  Beautiful new hotel in the Elgin that has a heated indoor saltwater pool. They offer a continental breakfast free of charge. I also had a great experience with the front desk checking in. They directed me to all areas looking for both food my place of work.

  Had a very comfortable stay. Very clean and peaceful. Great complimentary breakfast!! The front desk support were very kind and helped with all the questions. I definitely recommend this place to stay.

  Arrived exhausted from travel and got a rude front desk attendant who ignored my Diamond Elite status, skipped any welcome points, mocked my speech impediment, and tossed the keys on the desk instead of handing them over. He refused to give his name or a manager’s card. Too late to go elsewhere that night. I will not stay here again. On top of the rude service the A/C didn't work correctly so I woke up multiple times during the night sweating. The shower has glass doors that would not stay shut, so I had to McGuyver something to keep it from opening. The floor in the room was sticky and just felt disgusting. I would not walk around barefoot in the room. The bed was uncomfortable so between that and the A/C I got a horrible night's sleep. If you're short you're not going to be able to reach the microwave.

  I will Never book here again. They tried to charge me $250 for no reason over me rolling in the room in a legal state but yet didn’t smoke at all in the room. But accused me of smoking in the room with no smoke detectors didn’t go off nor any ashes in the room barely any seeds left on the desk. We cleaned what we could, if you don’t want people rolling weed in a legal state In your rooms make that a policy. Not just accuse someone of smoking because you see little amounts of weed stems and no ashes. If we were smoking in the room your detectors would've went off. Never again. I will Be booking here.

  I was verbally threatened and assaulted by the front desk staff. I called the Elgin police department for assistance and when they arrived they automatically implied that I created the situation. Story-this staff member, Milan, opened my room door without knocking. I quickly asked if he was maintenence because the TV in our room was no working. He said No and then walked back out. He then knocked on the door and when I opened the door he tells me I should be out of the hotel. That the checkout time is 11. I told him that I had extended time until 1:30. He's now hostile. That's not true! He yells. No one gets extended time you need to get out. You can't be in there sleeping! I look at him astonished that he's speaking to me this way. He doesn't know what im doing and say to him that he's being rude to a customer. He continues his hostility telling me No he's not. I need to get out. I tell him again I was told I can stay until 1:30. He says no one can tell you that, show me. I walk back into my room to get my phone so I can show him the message. He had walked off and I called for him to come back to show him my phone. He didn't want to look. He kept saying I need to get out. I then told him he was disrespectful and rude and that I would report him He says I don't care report me! You need to get out before I drag you and throw you out. I'm in disbelief with how this guy is speaking to me. So now I'm hot and get loud with him. Are you threatening me? I yell Now I'm calling the police. He yells, call the police and get out. I say this is stupid. He yells back. You are stupid! I say this is ignorant. He yells back you are ignorant. The maid in the hallway pulls him into an open room. My 17 year old son comes out and tries to pull me into our room to stop this exchange. The door closes and we're locked out of our room. I say to the staff person and maid that we are locked out. He walks off. My son goes down to try to get a room key. No one's at the desk. I call the police to report that i was threatened. I wait in the lobby about 15min. As the soon as the officer "Joudin" (i think) walks in Milan wants to start reporting me. Now he's humble and mild. Denying his behavior. The officer looks at me and I'm upset and I'm automatically deemed the antagonizer, Needing to justify my presence. The police questions me and tells me its he say say. I told him im not asking him to mediate because he wasnt im asking for my complaint to be documented. He was hesitant. He then questioned the maid. She claimed to not know anything. The the other guest on the floor. They heard the noise but didn't know what it was about. The police states they will not file charges. That this was a heated argument. regardless I was threatened i say. I want this documented and a report. He was hesitant but I insisted. The officer asked to see the message stating that I had permission to stay until 1:30. I showed him the message. His expression showed that he wasn't expecting this evidence. He thenn smirks Well you have about another 20 minutes. He then quietly walked over to the female officer who was no placating the staff person who was now so humble and meek and playedthevictim. I told them i had to get back into the room to get my items. They made me wait for the staff person to issue me a new card instead of asking the other desk worker who had just arrived to issue me a new card. I went to my room gathered my things and walked out . The officers stood in the hallway questioning others trying to disprove my claim. I knew they were waiting for my 17 year old son to come out of the room so that they could question him as well That wasn't happening. I don't want to make this about race but all of the vibes I was getting from the Elgin police department made it feel about race. I did have an Angela Davis fight the power afro:) Nonetheless, I was threatened and horribly treated, in front of my son by this staff worker Milan! and the Elgin police department pretty much told me my complaint was about nothing. I wonder what IHG will say
