First, this is a higher rating than I would have given it six years ago, the last time I stayed. Then, our bathroom was falling apart and the room barely fit the double bed. The room this time was more spacious, so we could at least walk a little and get into the bathroom (but still small--ours was like an NYC economy apartment with a small bathroom) and it worked for the night we were there. So unless you're booking one of the higher-class, more expensive rooms, don't expect luxury accommodations 😉 The elevators are also narrow, as are the floor halls, so be aware if you have large luggage.
That said, it is also in a great location on Michigan and one of the cheaper options in that area. (The reason I took a chance and booked it--I needed one night near Michigan because I decided to extend a work trip, and didn't want to pay $275 to $300 if I didn't have to.) For the price and walkability to shopping and buses, it's a good option if you just want a clean place to stay with a comfy bed and don't need a fancy room.
FYIs: Check in is on the 2nd floor, so you need to take your luggage up the elevator. Also need to call any cabs from reception (like if you need to head to the train or airport). Checking luggage after checkout is $2 a bag, where at most other hotels in the area, it's free.

Location is great for attractions but parking is expensive, service from the doormen on the ground floor was great very helpful, the desk people weren’t bad but weren’t great either, rooms are small, small fridge that only holds a couple things, no microwave, extra charges for anything, wifi absolutely SUCKS, and felt dirty, we were also told we had a room with a great view, turns out that great view is of the side of another hotel looking into other hotel rooms

First of all, I couldn't get into the hotel because valet had the parking blocked up around the corner.
Once I entered the hotel, we couldn't find where to check in because it's on the 2nd floor but there are no signs directing you to the desk.
I received a very small room directly across from the elevator. After asking Rachel if I could move to a different room because I was working nights and trying to sleep during the day, I was told there were absolutely no rooms available, that they were sold put.
About 2 hours later, a co-worker of mine arrived who booked his room online after me and had no property status checked in. I went to the counter with him and Rachel upgraded him to a king room on the 18th floor for no charge.
I asked her again if I could change rooms, explained my situation again and stated that I hadn't used my room yet, she replied there are no room available.
Upon asking for a manager, I was told that they did not have a manager on site, nobody was in charge, it was just her at the desk and two bar keeps.
Absolutely terrible, will never be back and currently thinking for other options along with a refund for the remainder of this trip.
So while looking for a hotel change, figured I'd have a drink and dessert. Guess what, no kitchen or food!!!!! And while this is happening, Rachel continues to check guests in (but inthought there were no rooms)
If coming to Chicago, DO NOT stay at the Warwick Allerton Hotel !

I simply don’t know where to begin. I’ll start by saying we were there for work us and at least 20 other people. We were all there 7-9 days. Some people were given suits. While my husband and I were given a tiny room with 2 drawers for the entire 8 days. So there was nowhere to put our belongings. We opted to not have room service since there was nothing they could do with our stuff everywhere. Regardless we needed toilet paper and requested twice that we be brought some which never happened so we had to GO BUY OUR OWN! The rooms themselves were ugh. Lumpy mattress. The pillows were these tiny pillows the size of couch pillows. If you rolled over, you rolled off of them. Every single person complained about them. (Kinked necks are great for people working. Or people on vacation.) The shower curtain didn’t cover the shower so you were freezing the whole time! The fridge fit 2 water bottles. Thats it. The coffee maker in room was gross. (Dear hotels use a coffee pot cleaning tab once in a while)
The first morning I attempted to go to the cafe and get coffee. A woman who looked as if she worked there was filling items and straightening things up. She never acknowledged me and left the room. Came back and continued to do the same. After a few minutes and her never bothering to say a word to me I was forced to ask if they were open. (It was 11 and I wasn’t sure if they had maybe closed and that’s why she wasn’t offering any sort of assistance or even a greeting.) she turned around and just stared at me like I said something wrong by daring to ask her to work. I then asked her if it was a problem that I asked her a question and she continued to just glare at me. So I walked away and informed the person at the desk that I was going to walk elsewhere to get coffee and would continue to do so for entire time I was there since she was so insanely rude. Other people were there and too were taken by her attitude.
It’s been a long time since I have stayed at a hotel that was so unaccommodating. I’m used to staying at Marriotts so this was horrible. They also charge 2 per item to hold baggage. 😆 never, ever again.

0 STARS - ABSOLUTELY DO NOT STAY HERE!
We stayed at the Warwick Allerton Chicago and our experience was absolutely unacceptable.
When I woke up, I had bed bug bites on my back. After further inspection of the room, we discovered that the bed appeared to be infested with bed bugs. To make matters worse, the mattress itself was filthy and had stains. When looking under the mattress there was hair, crumbs, bed bugs, and who knows what… We have photographs documenting both the condition of the mattress and the bugs which I have attached.
When we attempted to report the issue, we called the front desk and were left on hold for so long that we eventually had to walk down to the lobby ourselves to get assistance.
The hotel's response was incredibly disappointing. Initially, they only offered to refund only one night of our stay. After we pushed back, they offered to dry clean our clothing which was appreciated. However, our laundry was not returned until approximately 8:00 PM, forcing us to delay our travel plans, arrange last-minute care for our dog in another state, and stay elsewhere for an additional night that was never part of our plans. Only after continued pushback did they agree to refund the second night we stayed at the Warwick Allerton.
Even more concerning was being told multiple times that the front desk employee needed approval from a manager who was apparently unavailable because it was the weekend and the manager doesn’t work weekends. A hotel manager not being available during one of the busiest times of the week is difficult to comprehend, especially during a serious health and safety situation involving bed bugs.
The Warwick also provided no meaningful assistance with sanitizing our personal belongings. We were forced to spend our own money, time, and efforts to protect our clothing, luggage, shoes, and other personal items from potential contamination.
When we asked for bags to contain our belongings, we were initially given bags that were very small and had to ask for larger ones. No one could fit their belongings in the bags they gave us initially. The process took an excessive amount of time, forcing us to remain in a room we knew contained bed bugs while waiting for assistance. We then had to haul massive bags of laundry ourselves through the hotel and into the lobby in front of other guests checking out. It was embarrassing, stressful, and completely avoidable. No assistance was offered at all. We had to handle all of this on our own.
We also received no assistance carrying our other belongings down in giant plastic bags. As we struggled with multiple bags, the doorman was occupied watching videos on his phone and could not even be bothered to open the door for us as he visibly saw us struggling. I had to ask him to please open the door.
To top it all off, we were told that a manager would follow up with us by email. That follow-up never came. Not a single email. Not a phone call. Nothing.
Finding bed bugs in a hotel room is bad enough. How a hotel responds is what truly matters. The Warwick Allerton failed at every step. Poor cleanliness, poor customer service, poor communication, and a complete lack of urgency regarding a serious guest safety issue.
I would strongly encourage anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere.
