the toilet had a stain I had to clean prior to using it. One morning I was trying to order room service but the service had been turned off because they were short staffed. I went downstairs and ordered the food and brought it upstairs. Overall staff was helpful and it was an ok stay for the price. The hotel room looks like it needs an upgrade.
I paid about $400 for one night, so I was expecting an above average hotel experience. It was very mediocre. I should have stayed somewhere else for half the price and a similar quality. It looks like they made a nice hotel many years ago, but haven't done the maintenance needed to keep it nice. Toilet paper holder was broken and rust on the back of the toilet seat are just a few examples. Only thing saving this hotel is the location.

We booked Godfrey for our wedding hotel block and we wanted to specifically give a shoutout to Paris Jones. We had such an easy and seamless process for us and our guests, and it could not have been possible with Paris' help. Thank you !!
Abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel a Chicago come gruppo familiare, con più camere prenotate tramite Booking. Purtroppo abbiamo riscontrato sempre la stessa difficoltà nel far comprendere alla reception che una sola persona aveva effettuato la prenotazione per diverse stanze e per più persone, nonostante tutto fosse chiaramente certificato e indicato su Booking. Non ci è sembrato così complicato da capire e questo ha reso il check-in un po’ frustrante.
Detto ciò, la vista era davvero spettacolare e sicuramente è uno dei punti forti dell’hotel. La struttura però risulta un po’ datata e i letti non erano particolarmente comodi.

First of all, I would like to shout out Chris (front desk) the best customer service! This guy went out of his way to grab us water with his OWN credit card!
Let me explain.. on the first day we walked in, it was professional and all that also the hotel looked very very nice! Upon checking in at the frost desk, I had mentioned that it was my husbands birthday and the lady said I’m going to make sure you have the best room (mind you I had booked a suite with a view) walked in the room and there was literally no view at all but I let it go because I was only staying for two nights! Then here’s where the problem started, we went to the front desk and asked for a water and unfortunately they didn’t have water on hand because they ran out?? Huh? A whole wide hotel would run out of water? I was very confused! Then, that’s when Chris went out of his way and went to Walgreens to supply us with water not just that but brought it to my room as well! I’m not the person to leave bad reviews but when it comes to small details like that then I’m going to make sure to let the others know what they should be expecting! Again if it wasn’t Chris then I would be walking down to Walgreens at 2am buying water! I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED AND WILL NEVER BOOK GODFREY EVER AGAIN!
