Took my wife to the Skydeck today with her service dog. She is a diabetic. SIX, yes SIX Security personnel had to come an question her. Then while on the Skydeck, another security person, who had been following her, stopped to questioned her as to why she was standing, out of the way, with her service dog. Unbelievable harassment on all levels. Disappointed that I served this country, fought in a war, my family sacrificed so I could defend our nation, to be treated in such a manner.

Visiting the Skydeck at Willis Tower is an absolute must-do when you’re in the city. Even if you think you’ve seen Chicago from above, nothing quite prepares you for the view from 103 floors up. The highlight, of course, is The Ledge. Stepping out into the glass boxes that extend four feet from the building is a total rush. Looking straight down at the street below is both terrifying and exhilarating, it definitely makes for some of the best photos you’ll ever take. On a clear day, you can see across four different states. The 360-degree views of the lakefront and the skyline are unmatched. I was pleasantly surprised by the interactive museum on the way up. It’s full of cool Chicago history and great photo ops before you even hit the elevator. Despite being a popular spot, the staff kept things moving efficiently. The timed-entry system really helps manage the crowds.

The experience was so impressive. The museum was such a nice touch and unexpected. We were so grateful it was included. I really appreciated how spaced out it felt. It wasn’t crowded at all and felt like we had sufficient time. I loved how organized everything was, we had our own time on the ledge. The only bad taste in our mouth was when we asked one of the workers to take our photo (literally one photo), she had some serious attitude and when we said “you don’t have to then”, her response was “it’s not about you”. It was super uncomfortable and so we left.

The visit was good, however, I was really disappointed because ithe internet showed veterans free admission. When I approached the cashier, I inquired about the advertised Free Veterans Admission but was told that they didn't do that anymore, but they'd give us a 20$discount. I asked for the manager and he refused to honor what was online, and it wasn't his decision, it was corporate. I havr friends who were gonna visit n3xt week based in what we saw online but not anymore. WILLIS TOWER MANAGEMENT, DONTHE RIGHT THING and quit hiding behind " It's not us, it's corporate" line.

Honestly, I expected a lot more from this place. They only give you 90 seconds to take pictures, regardless of how big your party is. I even got back in line just to try again. Then we were told that two parties would share the same deck, which meant one group had to take photos facing away from the sunlight, so their pictures came out dark and unflattering.I mentioned this to the staff, but she said there was nothing she could do and suggested we switch with the other family. That didn’t make sense because they had also waited in line for good photos. If switching is part of the process, it should be managed by staff, not left to guests to figure out.To make things worse, when our 90 seconds ended, we took about 10 extra seconds to finish, and it felt like she rushed and disrupted our photos on purpose. I paid $55, so I expected a much better experience. Overall, it was stressful and disappointing.
