My reservation at this decrepit hotel was for August 7-9. My friend and I checked into a room on the 15th floor, and went out for the evening. One of the elevators was not operational when we checked in, and it took forever to get to our room, as there was a line for the working elevator. After returning from the evening out - they had no operational elevators. My friend just underwent open-heart surgery, and could not climb 15 flights of stairs to reach our room. The front desk offered a bottle of water and for us to sleep in the lobby until the elevator was repaired, which still had not happened after a 2 hour wait.
The hotel offered no alternative accommodations, nor an immediate refund to secure another hotel.
We finally found another hotel at 2:30 in the morning, and when we called the following day to retrieve my friends clothing and heart medications that were in the room, they stated they could not find anything.
We tried dealing with the manager, Michael, to reach a resolution , and he not only failed to resolve the matter, but refused to provide a number to their owner, Wabash OPCO Hotels LLC, when I asked for it.
They openly violate ADA compliance, and refuse to accommodate those with reservations that are disabled.
There are multiple hotels within their price range nearby, that are much nicer, and I would highly recommend you book your stay elsewhere!
Do yourself a favor and stay at one of the multiple hotels near this one. Even if you like Holiday Inn properties, there are a few near this hotel that are much nicer. This is the worst Holiday Inn/IHG property I have ever stayed at by a wide margin. I now deeply regret booking a two night stay, since I am now stuck in a room that is worse than I would expect at a cheap hostel.
Rooms are tiny (see photo), even by downtown Chicago standards, my bathtub leaks, my desk chair is ripped, there is a random substance spilled on the desk itself, walls are thin and you will hear your neighbors all night long, and my room happens to look directly out on a noisy HVAC that ran all night long. This is truly a last resort property. Avoid at all costs.

I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. Simply based on customer service and staff overall. The rooms are the smallest I've seen lol but that was not an issue since it's just to sleep in! :) We were busy all day so all you need is a bed. Breakfast is great. Coffee and cocoa is available at all hours of the day and night. The doorman is a beautiful human who always greets you with a smile. The lady that works night shift at the front desk was a charm. Did everything to make sure we were taken care of. Book here if you want a great environment and super friendly people.
Sept 3-7th 2026 Super Hot in Chicago. No AC in lobby or lounge. Our first room-#1604, AC didn't work, TV didn't work, no fridge, no place to sit down. Second room-#901, good AC, TV stopped working the first day...didn't work rest of the week. No fridge. No place to sit down except on the bed. (Front desk associate told us the rooms don't come with fridges, but our friend who stayed in #201 had a fridge and a place to sit down). Bed still has metal spring coils!! I didn't even think they still made these! Noisy AND uncomfortable. Very Small and Tight rooms. No one at the desk seemed to be happy to work there, except for Fatima, she was very pleasant and told me she had just started. (There was an over night, bald gentleman that was also very helpful when we checked out). It would be nice if this information was readily available: Where the ice machine is. Where the gym is. Where the closest Walgreens/CVS is. Perhaps recommended food establishments. Awesome that Trader Joes is across the street, but not open late and limited items. Decent Breakfast items to choose from but should reconsider the flow of breakfast traffic. Plates and bowls in the middle instead of the of the buffet. Lids on eggs/sausage/gravy that don't stay up when you open them.
Extra towels, room checked, beds made every day! Perhaps the housecleaning dept should be running this place. My friend who booked the room is an IHG Platinum Elite Member, when IHG text him to see how things were going, he complained and was being compensated with 10,000 points (about a $60 value to my understanding)....We split the bill, my share was over $700...is IHG going to send me a voucher for 10,000 points?!? I would not recommend this property.

We haven’t actually stayed as of yet. My wife booked the room and got a cheaper price through price match. In a few hours, we will be checking in and we get notified that the price match wasn’t accepted because we put in the actual day we will be checking in and not the day before. No email regarding this prior just a text the day we have already flown into town and they have no regard for the situation they are putting us in.
