How this is considered a 4-star hotel is beyond me.
The only real positive is the location. If you’re celebrating a special occasion, don’t expect the hotel to do anything to make it feel special.
They charge a daily amenities fee that feels completely unjustified. The “perks” include 15% off their poorly rated restaurant and two cans of water a day. I would’ve rather skipped the extra $35–$40 daily charge and bought water at Walgreens and food literally anywhere else.
We had to contact the front desk multiple times just to get fresh towels and the water we were supposedly entitled to. The room service line didn’t even work and redirected to the restaurant instead.
We paid around $2,000 for the weekend for a special occasion, and it honestly felt like a waste of money. We stayed on the top floor (17th floor), yet our “view” was basically the building next door. Despite being on the highest floor, we were also woken up several times by noise during the night. At minimum, the hotel should offer disposable earplugs.
The employees we interacted with were kind and professional, but the overall experience was disappointing. I regret not booking another hotel that offered far more value for the price.

Arlo was great! Special shoutout to Antoine and Adam. Antoine not only gave us great recommendations for things to do around the city, but he was also incredibly accommodating and kind to us with every request we had during our stay. Adam helped us with some technical issues we were having. We called front desk late in the evening and he was at our room just a few minutes later and was so thorough in making sure we have everything taken care of and to our satisfaction.

Arlo was one of the most affordable hotels I could find downtown Chicago. They have a lot of good deals and discount codes frequently which allowed me to be able to get a Millennium King room at a really affordable price.
There is a bus stop right out the front door and the subway a couple blocks away so travel to and from the hotel is really convenient and it is close enough to walk to so many places.
My room was clean and from the 15th floor it had a pretty good view and the street noise was minimal unless the window was open. I couldn’t hear noises from any other room besides when they closed/opened their blinds.

We had a very nice stay at the Arlo Chicago. The hotel was very clean, modern, and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful from the first moment. We felt very welcome when we arrived. A special thank you to Ali and Antoine from the front office team for their kindness and support during our visit. We are very happy with our experience and would definitely come back again. We highly recommend this hotel and really enjoyed our time here.

The Arlo is such a great hotel. Super convenient location, great gym, restaurant is nice (you get 15% off when you charge it to your room), and staff is super friendly and helpful.
Rooms are really nice and modern with storage under the bed, a good coffee machine, and great lighting in the bathroom. Spacious shower.
Shout out to Nick who was so kind and helpful this morning ordering us a cab for a flat fee to the airport, got me up to the 2nd floor to use the restroom, and helped with our luggage.
Would certainly love to stay again.
One tip, arrive and leave from the back entrance with cab/Lyft/Uber instead of the front entrance. Not sure if it’s only open during business hours, but it will make your life easier so you’re not stuck on Michigan.
