The issues is husband booked hotel. He did so with a third party site but I thought it was direct with hotel since a week ago I heard him on phone booking thinking he called hotel directly and he didn’t. But second night here which was the 4th we got back to hotel that night and got some snacks billed to room. Later husband was downstairs at desk as lady said there was no record of our reservation. When we got here on the 3rd we checked in and I added the stay to my IHG account for the points. It then changed us to the reservation being under my name on the app. And when we checked in we got a room different than one listed on the app. So when she stopped him last night she claimed he didn’t have a reservation or she couldn’t find it and held him down there like he was scamming. He called me down thinking he was getting scammed. After explaining to her over a half dozen times I didn’t book with IHG but added the stay and her total confusion & my repeated explanation I looked on the app realizing my name was hyphenated on it so the too went under that name. But the amount I had to explain it was astounding. And I almost called the police as it felt she was scamming us and also to blame the man who checked us in was wild as he didn’t do anything wrong but give us a different room than on our booking & the IHG app and my name is different on the app for the likely 8th time she finally found our room and reservation. But she held him down there over an hour like he was the one at fault. And she acted so upset afterwards when we were the ones treated so poorly and none of it was our fault. I do the adding a stay to my account often when I am with someone who’s booked themselves and never had a problem before. Train her better and at a minimum give her the info she needs to not hold guests hostage with their mistakes.

Dirty room, rude service, smelly room, no breakfast (hot breakfast is at the restaurant that you pay for). Worst holiday inn I’ve ever stayed in. Would have left but I’d been traveling for 12 hours. Stay away

Shelly at the front desk is Fantastic and made this stay (now the 4th one in the past two months) one for the books. I usually put a request in for a ground or lower floor room, because we'll, it just makes life easier. We were on the fourth floor, and she happened to read the request I had submitted a couple days ago and without ANY hesitation changed us to the requested level. Shelly is always the one to check us in on the weekends and just makes you feel welcomed and a sense of relief after traveling the terrible I-80! Thank you Shelly, you the REAL MVP!!!
Rooms are decent and do the job to rest your bones after traveling to Des Moines, being at ball fields all day and sometimes night.
What the site pictures show for rooms is what you get, no razzle razzle, simple and to the point.
Kiddos say the pool is amazing and huge, hasn't yet felt over crowded, considering how many other kiddos and people you see on the property.

I have to say. When I made the reservation I made it thru ihg and than called the hotel and asked for a high floor because I was working overnights the night before and coming str8 from work which is a 4 hr drive I was told it wouldn't be a problem.at all. When I got to the hotel the desk clerk at 2pm was ok but not very straight to the point. I was booked at the employee rate which I was very grateful for. I asked to check in was told my room was not done at all and nothing open. They also upgraded me to a suite instead of a standard room which again I was very grateful for. However I was put on first floor in room 117 which I believe was next to a mechanical room and possibly the hotel Lau dry room underneath because at 4am they floor started to shake some and I could hear machines running. I did not say anything. I finally got into my room and I took a nap. I woke up and was itchy but thought it was just because I was sunburnt didn't think of it and didnt see anything at all. At 2am on sunday the last day of stay and before checking out I wokeup at 2am itching and my ankles had been bit up. I ran across the street to grab something to eat at taco bell. Ame back and found something crawling at the end of my bed. The night auditor was very nice he came down and saw what I was talking about it put a few in a cup and moved me right away. At checkout the same girl at the desk on friday when I got there was there again on Sunday morning. The night audiot.as well was still there around 9ish am. She asked how things w e re and I hassitated because again I was getting the employee rate but the auditor said im.117 and she was like oh so sorry the gm will be in touch and handed me my bill. It is now Thursday and well I still have not heard one word back from anyone at the hotel regarding my stay.
