Previously I had only good history with this hotel, but my last stay was a literal stay from hell. I booked a single night stay on the top floor as I usually do whenever I'm in town. The front desk lady was very nice as usual and other than a large group of very drunk people drinking at the bar everything seemed normal. When I went up to my room I realized that that floor had most of the rooms taken by the rest of that very drunk and very loud crowd. There was also a thick smell of marijuana in the air. I tried to ignore the noise, but finally at about midnight I went down and spoke to the front desk. She was very nice and asked everyone to quiet down as it was midnight. At this point the people drinking at the bar were finally cut off. It was irresponsible for the hotel to be serving alcohol to such drink patrons as it was,but they were finally cut off at this point. I could tell she was getting pretty overwhelmed as vehicle loads of very drunk people were still arriving. When I tried to go back to my room I was assaulted by one of these inebriated people in the elevator. Even after many warnings the person would not leave me alone and kept groping and trying to kiss me. I got out of the elevator and immediately told the front desk. She looked helpless as I'm sure she felt. When the police arrived they were very helpful and went about tracking the offender down. After two hours of the police intervening with multiple drunk people I was finally given a first floor room and things quieted down until morning when loud music began in the parking lot. The truly big issue of this stay came with the manager. She was upset that I had called police, proceeded to call me a Karen and was throwing a verbal fit that I was requesting to be moved to a room away from the drunk and now also drugged people who were by this time blocking my door and not even allowing me to enter my room. The police officer had to request a room on another floor for me. He had to talk her down to a reasonable frame of mind and get everything smoothed over. That was the worst way a manager could have handled this. Her argument? She was making money on the wedding guests and didn't want them to be bothered. She chose a single group one time guests over the safety and security of all of her other guests including regular customers. Good management is non-existent here. It is not safe and it is certainly not quiet. Overall it was a terrible stay with drunken people going off until 2am, the strong smell of marijuana and the very next morning loud music playing in the parking lot. Bad management is the total issue here. She could have offered a different room on another floor immediately instead of arguing about it to the point the officer needed to request it himself. She could have been appalled that her guest assaulted another guest and at very least apologized. She handled the entire thing terribly. The fact that police needed to be there for 2 hr to calm things down attests to that fact. I do not recommend staying here based solely on the fact that you will not be safe. Police in the area are wonderful, but it's not worth the risk. Stay at another hotel and stay safe. I also want to add that the fee for this one night was $180.00. That is very high priced for the area as it is and then add all of this on and the fact that there was no breakfast, no offer to fix anything and no apologies.
PS. Here is the expanded explanation of the no breakfast issue. There is a sign in the breakfast area that says you can talk to the front desk if you need anything. There was no waffle batter, eggs were only crumbs and a couple of sausages were left at breakfast time Everything else was cleaned out. There was not enough breakfast items available for even one person to eat much less multiple. When we talked to the front desk she stated whatever gets put out in the morning is all they have. They don't bring out more. Why is the sign there? For show? This hotel needs to get things straightened out in their management. What a colossal mess.

The whole hotel was very clean and orderly. The staff were pleasant. The experience of staying there was a good representation of the values and attitude of the Rock Valley community.
I especially enjoyed looking at the locally sourced framed photography and mural on the wall and other locally sourced materials /decor. It conveyed the pride of those living in this community in NWIA.
