  Misty and the entire hotel staff were great. My family and I stayed here for a week long baseball tournament and the entire staff was extremely patient with young baseball kids who were basically stuck in the hotel due to late games. I had questions on billing and everyone I talked to kept digging until we found the issue. Breakfast was good, accommodations were nice. Pool was broken but the hotel arranged for guests to use a neighboring hotel’s pool. Would recommend anyone visiting the area to stay here.

  Team member Rachel was absolutely amazing. There was an issue with the coffee pot in my room which I realized later in the evening. She brought me a replacement coffee pot and ran it a few times to make sure it worked properly before she brought it to my room. She also hunted down some coffee pods for me the second night so I would have them for the morning. We had a great chat in the elevator on the way to find them. I truly appreciate her commitment to hospitality.

  The hotel has improved greatly since I last stayed at the Ottumwa site. Some suggestions that I might add would be: Store repair parts for the pool. It seems that many IHG properties are always waiting for parts. I was wanting a simple English Muffin and the kitchen was out and it wasn’t near the close of the breakfast time. A closer watch on the cinnamon rolls so that one side is warm and ready and the second tray covered so it would be warm and ready. I got a cold one because both trays were filled together. There are many options and this could have simply been an occasion that is not normal. The room was very comfortable! The TV didn’t like to connect to stream. I tried a few times without success and just watched the channels that were available. I would not hesitate to return to this Holiday Inn Express. The Manager was very kind and helpful. She has made improvements and wants to know what else she can do to make this the best rest in Ottumwa.

  I stay here quite a bit for work and have had very positive stays. Rooms are clean and I like the layout. Front desk is always accommodating to what ever I may have forgot, and have smiles that make me comfortable every time I stay. Overall a great place to stay and good location with lots of options for food or shopping. Highly recommend. Keep up the goodwork.
