- DMDavid MeyerSep 11, 20195.0This is not the Ritz-Carlton, but it's the best place to stay in La Mars, Iowa. The decor is above average. Lobby and other staff were very friendly and courteous. The room was exceptional for this price range. The furnishings were new in appearance and quite nice. The bed and pillows were excellent. Lots of space for suitcases and laptops, with plenty of outlets to plug devices in to. Lighting was excellent. Bathroom was large with a tub and shower. The towels were luxuriously thick. Everything clean. In the room was a Keurig coffee maker, a microwave and a fridge. Can't beat that. The best feature about a stay here is the breakfast. Those of you who travel much know what the standard motel breakfast fare is. It gets old really fast. The fact that my party of 3 did not have to go to a restaurant for a decent breakfast saved us considerably. If you are staying in La Mars, this is by far the best place.
