  Disappointing customer service and confusing Disappointing customer service and confusing booking policies. My husband booked two separate reservations at this hotel for government-related work travel. When booking, he selected a rate that matched the expected government rate, not realizing he had selected a special nonrefundable rate. When his work assignment for the second week was unexpectedly canceled, we contacted the hotel four days before check-in to request cancellation and a refund. The hotel refused, citing its nonrefundable policy. While I understand cancellation policies exist, what was most disappointing was the complete lack of customer service. We were told a manager would call us the following day, but no one ever did. When we followed up, the staff simply repeated that we needed to look at our reservation rather than offering any assistance. We also escalated the issue to Best Western corporate customer service. Corporate documented our complaint but ultimately referred the matter back to the hotel, which again refused any refund. After reviewing the Best Western website more closely, I also noticed that rates labeled “Flexible Rate” and “Rewards Member Flexible Rate” are displayed as nonrefundable. Even the Government/Military rate was listed as nonrefundable. I find these rate descriptions confusing and potentially misleading to travelers. We will be returning to Fort Dodge frequently for future work projects, but this experience has made it clear that we will not be staying at this property again.   Breakfast of eggs, sausage, beans, bagels & cream cheese, waffles, cereal, yogurt … Great little game room for our family of 4 to hang out a bit & play fussball & cards, swimming pool +. Beds are nice, nice big tv, and the couple that own it/manage it are very friendly & personable (prior owners at a hotel in Wisconsin). I would recommend this place highly, clean, & very affordable stay. Gif bless you on your travels.

  I stayed there 2 times. 8 days total. I think ot is the best hotel in the town. Clean rooms, good breakfast and extremely nice people.

  For the price I guess it was ok. The rooms, especially the bathrooms, could use some updating and better cleaning. If they don’t have the room reserved, the ac will be turned up and the smell gets to be like a mildew smell. But they are trying and they did respond to my request for a different room and, good help is hard to find!
