  This hotel has had some updates in common areas. I decided last minute to stay in Dubuque. I shopped a little for hotel options and decided location here was best due to family being close. Lobby area is updated and nicely done. My room however, had a musty and pretty strong smoke smell, peeling furniture & what looked like a water leak bubble in the ceiling above the bed. When I went by the front desk on my way out for dinner, the young man working the desk was on his phone. He did look up and talk with me when I asked if any of the rooms had been updated. He said no. He thought they eventually would be. This room was between $250-$300 with all fees and tax. In DC I paid a similar price at an IHG hotel in May and it was beautiful with wonderful accommodations. This one fell very short of anything I would recommend.

  We stayed here for a quick weekend trip to visit the Mississippi River Museum. On Friday night, we had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel (admittably) for convenience. We ended up having a wonderful time! Food was great and our server Jenna was an absolute delight! We have two toddlers who were out past bedtime but Jenna was so understanding, attentive, and so sweet to our kids. It was a great experience!

  Arrived late to find the suite we booked wasn't available. With three people the single king room we got was too small. They "couldn't" do anything about it so we were stuck. They brought a roll away bed that was more like a box spring than a mattress. Very uncomfortable. Hopefully they will comp part of the room cost. Parking is terrible with drive aisles that are too narrow and some levels that don't have direct access to the hotel. Overall not a bad place but when you don't get what you paid for it ruins the experience. Update - 9 days after writing this we have called the hotel three times and left messages for Theresa but she is never available and has not returned our calls. You took the time to reply to this but you can't call us? I'll believe you when we hear from you. My recommendation is do not book rooms in this hotel. They will cheat you and the stonewall in hopes you'll go away. If you don't call we will contest the full charge through our credit card company. Your move.

  $291 per night... no free breakfast, pool was constantly closed, staff were not helpful. Some of our group did not have rooms available even at 8pm, some had wet ceilings and musty smelling rooms, some had dirty bedding and when we requested new bedding they just remade the bed and did not change the sheets others were told there was no housekeeping so the best they could do was to give them some sheets for them to remake the bed themselves, the staff were rude, the food at the breakfast buffet pay you had to pay for was disgusting and the itty bitty pool was constantly closed. Honestly the pool looks like it could be an oversized hot and the only reason it is there was to be able to list that as an amenity. My kids were so looking forward to going in the pool, but after a long day of travel the first night the pool was closed the whole night. The staff kept saying check back in a couple of hours but they never opened it. The second day once again we tried to go down to the pool in the afternoon and again it was closed this time we were told due to state safety regulations and they were adding chemicals and we should check back in a couple of hours. When speaking with the front desk they did not care not was any kind of compensation offered. When paying full price I would expect the amenities listed to be available. I had to travel for work again this week and after this experience I made sure to stay away from and IHG hotel!
