  Incredible show and friendly staff, but held back by location, tight seating, and steep costs ​We went to Germaine's Luau expecting a classic Hawaiian experience, and while the entertainment itself was a major highlight, a few structural and logistical drawbacks kept it from being a top-tier experience. ​Starting with the positives, the food was quite good, and the service from the staff was genuinely friendly. Every single performer and cast member from the show was warm, approachable, and more than happy to take pictures with guests afterward, which was a fantastic touch. The show itself was high-energy, entertaining, and completely stellar from start to finish. ​However, there are several downsides to keep in mind. First, the bar service was notably slow, and they actually ran out of basic drink mixers partway through the evening, which was frustrating given the price point. The seating arrangement is also very cramped—the tables are packed tightly together, making it feel a bit claustrophobic. ​The overall cost feels a bit high for what you actually get, especially since you are required to pay extra out-of-pocket for things like parking and drinks beyond your initial tickets. Finally, the location is a bit jarring. It’s tucked away deep inside a loud industrial neighborhood, sitting right next to a scrap metal yard and sandwiched between two oil refineries. If you are expecting a secluded, pristine tropical paradise from the moment you pull in, the gritty industrial backdrop is quite a surprise. ​Great performers and a fun show save the night, but the logistics and surroundings need improvement.

  I had really high expectations for this and it really wasn't worth the price in my opinion. The food was just okay, not much variety. Our shuttle bus arrived 45 minutes late so we were the last to find a table which were picked over. Unless you upgrade to orange tables or plumeria you will not have a very good view. If you select any of the red sections you are the last to eat because they only allow one section to go at a time. People try and reserve whole tables for their party not taking into consideration that everyone has to sit together. The show was the best part of the entire experience.

  Go to TOA LUAU. Germaine’s was a waste of money. The environments didn’t seem good for kids. Lots of drunk people and the host on the microphone kept making jokes like, “you can’t take your clothes off, this is a family show” wink wink. The employees didn’t seem happy to be there. Also their outfits were very inappropriate. TOA LUAU was much better for families.

  Honestly, I think you could find a much better luau experience on Oʻahu. I’m giving Germaine’s 3 stars mainly because the location is beautiful—it’s right on the water and has a really cool, retro-Hawaii feel that definitely adds to the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the bar experience was HORRIBLE. Before the luau had even started, they were already out of several basic mixers, including orange juice and pineapple juice. The line for drinks was also ridiculously slow. We waited about 30 minutes just to get drinks and ended up missing the pig ceremony because we were still waiting in line. That was really disappointing, especially considering the cost of the experience. Dinner was okay, but nothing particularly memorable or special. The luau show itself was entertaining and enjoyable, and the performers did a great job. Overall, the location and show were the highlights, but the poor bar service and missing part of the experience because of the wait really brought it down for me. If you’re looking for a luau on Oʻahu, I honestly think there are better options to choose from.

  Me and my wife went to this luau September 22nd of 2026 we had when we got there they didn't have any tickets for us we paid way in advance months in advance who is a big ordeal to get our tickets to get off the bus so we can do the activities which they see that we paid but no tickets. So finally we get off the bus I get a squirt out in the meantime they're taking pictures portraits of you and your spouse by the time we get off the bus me and another couple of the camera guy is gone then they get the guy back and then they want us to take a picture over by the bathroom when everybody else is getting pictures by the ocean and I told him no so they came back and took pictures of us in the meantime it took so long that we're in the back of the line of everything that we got to our tables that they set you up at we're like at the very back of everything and then it really seem to care I asked him if they can make it right for me and another couple and they just kind of ignored us so it was what was and the show was really good that's why I give it a a three-star otherwise I'd give it a two-star at the show wasn't any good then on the way back our bus that picked us up at our hotel broke down on the freeway. So then that took forever come out with some little buses and pick us up took forever to get back but not once they even offered to compensate us for any money back for all the problems we had which I thought was a little disappointing.
