  Lifetime in Hawaii located in the Royal Kuhio is an ideal place to stay! Convenient location & rooms are appointed with everything that we needed to make it feel like our home away from home!

  The customer service was not the best. You are not greeted by any staff at any time, unless you go into their admin office and that's only to acknowledge and ask what they can help with.The AC units in the bedroom and living room were not the best at keeping the rooms cool. It was very uncomfortable coming into the room from a long hot day. I understand that housekeeping is not something included anymore without a request and must be approved (thank you pandemic) however, I have never in all the hotels I have stayed at (cheap or not) had customer service tell me that they would not supply the room with a fresh towels. This was not disclosed in the advertising. I was told that they only provide towels if your stay is longer than 9 days. The gentleman on the phone said, "yeah usually people just wash them themselves," With 4 adults, poor air ventilation, hot days and multiple showers, you can see why this news was disheartening. This resort is definitely not the cheapest yet I understand it's not a luxury resort either but even the lowest hotel in the lowest areas provide towels at request! A new set is available for a $20 fee. However, since I called at 6:30pm I was not able to request the towels since they did not have housekeeping on the clock. I then asked if I could go pick them up and was told that I had to wait for housekeeping to unlock the room of towels. Right after that call, my daughter steps on a nail next to the transition strip from the kitchen to the carpet. It did scratch the surface of her heel but luckily there was no tetanus shot needed. When I called to report the incident I reached a voicemail due to the front office closing at 7pm. Later that night, we found a house roach in the bedroom closet. The next morning I went to request the towels and to inform them about the nail incident and roaches. I asked the lady at the desk for towels and she said okay and asked what room. I informed her what room and I explained to her that I called the night before and he informed me that it was $20 to get a new set of 8 towels.I then informed her about the nail. She did seem surprised and concerned and asked if I could email her the photos and I did. (They made a repair that same afternoon)When I mentioned the roaches she wasn't surprised and said she was sorry that they have exterminators go in and causes for roaches to roam around. When I finally had a chance to wash it was 9pm on Saturday. I loaded up 2 large washers and put in the detergent that I purchased from the front office and to my surprise, there were no coin dispensary machines available. I went out to the security to ask if she knew how I can get coins and she said that coins can only be requested through housekeeping Monday through Friday from 8am-4pm. She then said I can request from stores around. Since I had already placed all the clothes and soap in I had no choice but to venture into a hunt for coins. 5 Restaurants spread out! It took me 5 restaurants to get enough coins for two $7 washers and 2 dryer cycles. By the time I got back I was able to put in the coins. It said 39 mins. for the washer. By the time I went back to check on the loads, the laundry room was closed! I went to security and the lovely lady managed to convince one housekeeper to allow me access to at least change the loads to the dryers so that the clothes don't stink up and then I would return in the morning. Which I did! (Thank you to that security employee!)The dishes were not clean. I did have to wash them before each use. We were provided with a note on the door the day before our check out letting us know what we needed to do when we checked out. Take out all the trash from the bathroom and kitchen and dump it in the trash room. We needed to also clean all dishes and leave them in the dishes and run the dishwasher. (Honestly, it gave Airbnb vibes) I guess that's enough rant from me.Unfortunately, I will not be returning here. If you plan on having time and do not care for the AC or washing your own towels then this place is still great for the price and location!
