Hotel Indigo® Savannah Historic District is the perfect destination for your Savannah experience, steps from City Market, Forsyth Park, Ellis Square, River Street and more than 150 restaurants and bars. Like our Spanish-moss-draped city herself, our hotel is the perfect mix of old and new featuring a historic building with authentic suites along with modern rooms, gathering spaces and amenities that every visitor will love.
Known to locals as the "Grand Lady on the Bay", our building was once 19th-century mega-merchant Simon Guckenheimer's dry goods storage house, which was filled with everything the South made best, from tobacco to canned peaches. The 1940's and '50s brought a grocery store with the city's first true coffeehouse. Now, the Grand Lady stands as a charming boutique hotel with modern style in the vibrant Ellis Square that reflects the essence of Savannah's renowned Historic District.
Guests enjoy our acclaimed location in the heart of it all, along with true Southern hospitality. After a delicious breakfast or cocktail at our lobby bar, immerse yourself in our neighborhood's rich culture at City Market, located next door. Then embark on one of the tours Savannah has to offer with several iconic squares located steps from our door. Make your way down cobblestone paths to famous River Street, where you can watch ships enter and exit the harbor while savoring Southern comfort food. Hotel Indigo sets the stage for a remarkable Savannah stay!

While the location was great, we had to sleep with ear plugs in. Our room overlooked the parking garage, so we had to keep the curtains drawn at all times. On top of that, the valet staff honk the horns of the cars to find them, as well as to alert each other as they drive down the ramps. It is incredibly loud and disruptive. We could also hear very intoxicated people coming back to their room next door at 3am and not settle in for over 30 minutes. The bed was very stiff and the air conditioner cooled the air in the living room of the suite, but not the bedroom, which is the opposite of helpful. They also do not have a fan in the bathroom, so the mirror gets very steamy after a shower.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Indigo Savannah Historic District! The location was perfect, right in the heart of everything and so convenient to explore Savannah.
The service was amazing, and we loved the complimentary drinks each day. One day they had cocktails and mocktails, which was such a refreshing welcome after being out in the summer heat! The rooms were nice, the beds were comfy, and the valet team was fantastic. Todd was especially amazing! So personable and helpful. They even offered us water every time we arrived to make sure we stayed hydrated.
Such a great experience overall. We’d definitely stay here again!

Location is good. There is a $28 resort fee they apply at the check in desk. AC was broken in the lobby and bar area . Visited this place in August and was not a good experience. They had a giant fan running at the bar area but was very very humid and hot. So we went somewhere else for drinks. It is very expensive for a mediocre hotel room at $200/night plus $48 valet parking. So be ready to pay around $270 - $300 per night while staying here.

Great option for visiting the historic area.
Very welcoming place to stay when visiting the historic district. Great location, amenities, with excellent staff and service. Very clean, comfortable and affordable. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. Keep in mind, this is a historic building, in the historic district. So there are little nuances to the place. It's not brand new, but it's been renovated and brought up to modern day standards. We were very comfortable, with all of our needs met for our stay. Highly recommended location and hotel group. Our standards are very high, but realistic. The IHG Group and staff at this location far exceeded our expectations. We will stay here again when visiting the area. Thank you to the staff for helping make our stay so wonderful and memorable.

I understand Savannah is one of the most haunted cities in the country, but blood stains (see photo) on the bed sheets is not an added haunted touch we prefer in our room. Be aware of the almost $30/night 'destination fee.' Overall, the common areas are dirty. The men's restroom closest to the dining area had multiple puddles of urine (see photo). We had multiple false fire alarms during our stay. One alarm was after midnight while most occupants were sleeping (see photo). Maybe, the destination fee money can go toward upgrading the fire alarms? None of the employees provided instructions or anything at all during these alarms. People were confused, elderly and disabled patrons needed assistance and children were crying. It appears training needs to be conducting regarding actions employees should take and instructions they should provide to customers. The air conditioning unit stopped working and we got moved to another room. A few of the employees were polite and professional while a few others were very unpleasant and amateurish. If you choose to valet your vehicle, it costs $48/day. On a positive note, the location of the hotel is great with several places within walking distance. The wooden tokens for drinks at the bar and bottled water cooler by the valet employees are a nice amenity. However, the overall hotel expenses fall VERY short of quality versus cost comparison. There are several other options close by and this is very likely a one and done for us.
