Hotel Indigo® Savannah Historic District is the perfect destination for your Savannah experience, steps from City Market, Forsyth Park, Ellis Square, River Street and more than 150 restaurants and bars. Like our Spanish-moss-draped city herself, our hotel is the perfect mix of old and new featuring a historic building with authentic suites along with modern rooms, gathering spaces and amenities that every visitor will love.
Known to locals as the "Grand Lady on the Bay", our building was once 19th-century mega-merchant Simon Guckenheimer's dry goods storage house, which was filled with everything the South made best, from tobacco to canned peaches. The 1940's and '50s brought a grocery store with the city's first true coffeehouse. Now, the Grand Lady stands as a charming boutique hotel with modern style in the vibrant Ellis Square that reflects the essence of Savannah's renowned Historic District.
Guests enjoy our acclaimed location in the heart of it all, along with true Southern hospitality. After a delicious breakfast or cocktail at our lobby bar, immerse yourself in our neighborhood's rich culture at City Market, located next door. Then embark on one of the tours Savannah has to offer with several iconic squares located steps from our door. Make your way down cobblestone paths to famous River Street, where you can watch ships enter and exit the harbor while savoring Southern comfort food. Hotel Indigo sets the stage for a remarkable Savannah stay!

This hotel is perfectly located, with easy access to everything in the area. One of the first things that impressed me was the welcome drink coin given to guests upon arrival. It immediately added to the excitement and atmosphere of being on vacation.
The bartender at the welcome drink bar was fantastic. I'm actually very sensitive to alcohol and usually can't drink much, but the cocktails she made were so well-balanced and delicious that I could easily have had more than one. Her skills were truly impressive.
The room itself was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Another thoughtful touch that stood out to me was that the hotel provides complimentary ice water infused with fruit and lemon throughout the day for all guests, regardless of whether breakfast is included with their stay. It may seem like a small detail, but little gestures like this make a big difference.
Since this was my first time visiting the area, perhaps I noticed these things even more, but I was genuinely touched by the hotel's attention to detail and hospitality. It's the kind of place that makes you feel welcomed from the moment you arrive.
I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

I want so bad to be able to give this hotel a good review but I just cannot. The issues that I have I did not report because A. there were many and I wanted to focus on enjoying my vacation and B. I didn't want them in my room trying to fix it. Currently in room 408 and can't wait to check out today. There is an unsightly patch in the ceiling, the toilet runs SOOOO loud at random times throughout the day and has on more than one occasion waken me from my sleep, the bathroom is so very tiny and uncomfortable. The room was clean for the most part but could definitely use some touch ups in the bathroom with grout and some plumbing fixtures. I suppose when look for cheap lodging, that's exactly what you get. The staff has been wonderful, the lobby is nice, there were free COLD water bottles just outside the main entrance which I found to be a very nice touch considering the June heat. All in all, I cannot wait to leave and I will not be back to this location.

After having 8.2 million people read my reviews, I am excited to share my experience once again. My wife took me to Savannah, GA, as part of my birthday celebration. We stayed at the Indigo Hotel located in the heart of the historic district, near Savannah’s famed River Walk. From the time that we arrived, until the time we left, this hotel and staff made us feel like we were at our home away from home.
We were greeted with a smile, and our smile became even wider, when we walked inside of our fourth floor suite, which was nestled in just the right location so that we could see the beautiful Savannah River and the historic bridge, which was lit up in a soothing red glow at night. The suite included a spacious walk-in shower, with quality toiletries, two televisions, a sofa, refrigerator, sink, and a very comfortable king sized bed, just to name a few of the amenities.
My wife and I were blessed to have met Hotel Indigo Savannah Historic District's Director of Sales Mrs. Kai Williams during our stay, and I can tell you that the IHG Corporation needs to do all they can to keep her on staff. She was very knowledgeable about everything Savannah! She recommended many local businesses that we should patronize, which was very helpful to us, as we navigated our way around the city. You could just tell that she knew what she was doing, especially how she interacted with staff and other customers. To sum it up, we’ve never been treated so kindly, by anyone, like we were treated by Mrs. Williams, since we’ve been coming to Savannah the past 30 years.
I recommend that you try this place out the next time you’re in Savannah!

I had a concern after my stay and reached out to the hotel for assistance. I want to specifically recognize Assistant General Manager Okello Odongo for his professionalism, responsiveness, and genuine concern. He took the time to review the information available, followed up with me directly, and provided the clarity he was able to provide while respecting hotel policies and guest privacy.
Throughout the process, he was courteous, understanding, and made me feel like my concerns were being taken seriously. Good customer service can be hard to find, and I truly appreciate the effort he made to help me. Thank you, Okello, for your assistance and professionalism.

When I booked this hotel, the reviews were mixed but many were positive so I took a chance. I booked a King sized room. When we arrived, they didn’t have one available. The room with two queen beds was cramped. At first, they stuck us in the worst possible location by the elevators on the first floor where it was incredibly noisy. I asked to be moved the next morning, and it took nearly all day to do so. Now, I’m dealing with extra charges that went through on my credit card (that don’t align with my final receipt). The hotel claims they don’t see them. I was also bounced around several times before speaking to a rep who still could not help me. The service is truly sub par. If you get a great deal, the location is great. Otherwise, I recommending passing on this hotel during your Savannah stay.
