  Horrific experience, BLACK MOLD everywhere! I booked a 2 night stay. The room I was given, (Room 102) had black mold all over and insects flying around. Disgusting sticky floors with stains, water damage throughout the room and it had a terrible odor. Everything in this room was unsanitary and a serious health hazard. The hallway had no AC and a dehumidifier hooked up. The side building entrance/exit door also was not working. We reported the massive mold issue to the front desk. We were relocated to another room on the 3rd floor and it also had the same mold issue. We had to vacate the property as the hotel is not safe to stay in. After voicing our concerns and showing pictures the front desk did allow us to cancel the reservation, but I had to miss work and find other accommodations last minute which cost significantly more money last minute. There was no offer for any compensation/points, free nights to make it up or anything. Terrible management allowing this situation to occur. IHG needs to address this issue. Not happy, I have emailed corporate and they need to make this right asap. I have plenty more photos if needed.

  This hotel is modern, and brightly decorated. Sadly the good impression ends there. We checked in in the early evening and went to our room which had a strong foul odor. Upon inspection, we found mold in an electrical outlet with a very poor patch job around it. When we asked for a different room, we were downgraded to a smaller room without a refund for the difference in cost until we insisted. The manager who was supposed to speak with us never appeared. Throughout the property, there were carefully placed dehumidifiers. A number of guests after us complained about the rooms being inadequately cleaned. The pool was closed for maintenance, not ideal in the middle of summer. The fitness room is marginal as was breakfast. Would never stay here again.

  Shower was dirty when I checked in...curly black hair on the floor. Room was damp, towels and linen were damp feeling. Very cheap feeling hotel with a fancy shell on the outside. Really its a glorified Motel 6. 75% construction workers and semi drivers based on the parking lot. Gym looked like cheap treadmills only meant for walking or a dog. Tiny room. Cheap looking TV remote that looks like we're still stuck in the 90's. Water never got hot in the shower. Overall disappointing hotel....especially since Travelocity list led it as an 8.8.

  Shawn checked us in...did a great job ..very personable lady. We had to change rooms as ours had a strong mildew odor. The new room had sticky, dirty floors...which I wiped off. The cloth I wiped with was filthy and full of black dirt. The shower was filthy. Went to breakfast at 8am...food on the floor...fruit flies flying around the juice dispenser. Decided to skip breakfast. Breakfast workers very unfriendly.....but that's their prerogative... The bed was comfortable.....finally the outside grounds were littered with trash and garbage and the outside trash cans were ov er flowing with trash. When we travel..we try to stay at an Avid.....but we'll never stay at the Macon North Avid again. Good luck Shawn.....you deserve better.
