  A fabulous experience overall. The front desk staff was kind and helpful. The bed felt like a dream and it was the quietest hotel room I’ve ever been in! I loved sitting out on my balcony at the back of the hotel overlooking the beautiful trees on the hillside. And the breakfast was outstanding thanks to Melody and the rest of the breakfast staff. ❤️

  Slim pickings in Helen as far as hotel/motels go. Selected Holiday Inn Express &Suites in downtown Helen, GA. Pool had too much chlorine added, made water cloudy. There was trash laying on the floor in the hallways and some left in the room. For $264.00, my expectations were much higher. Carpet old and worn. Truly disappointed and ripped off.

  The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. 24 hours coffee is available. Unfortunately, the breakfast experience was disappointing. No coffee machine in the room. HOWEVER It feels like the hotel has never moved past the COVID-era breakfast model, relying heavily on cheap plastic utensils and mostly grab-and-go food options. Considering how busy this property is and how much business it appears to generate, the breakfast offering does not match the expectations for a hotel of this caliber. The lady in the kitchen told us the pancak matching is not working today, but I read reviews it is been over 2 months the machine has not been replaced it/repair it. This seems more like a management issue than a resource issue. For example, a bag of overnight oats costs around $10 and could provide breakfast for all the guests. Small investments in fresher food and a better dining experience would make a significant difference in guest satisfaction. The hotel has potential, but the breakfast service needs improvement to match the quality of the rooms.

  The staff are friendly and courteous and the breakfast was great. The carpet in the room could stand to be deep cleaned or replaced. Our bare feet were black from just walking around the room. My other complaint is that the staff let individuals not staying at the hotel use the restroom just off of the lobby entrance and then the restroom was an icky mess. The town of Helen has plenty of public restrooms so there is no reason to let the general public use the facilities at the hotel.

  Never in my life would I ever stay here again. Randos popping fireworks outside our window at 11 and 12 at night. Jerks running around on the top two floors and front desk saying they'll "try" to do something about it and don't do anything. It's impossible to get a good night sleep here. The location is merely convenient. The inflated price isn't remotely worth being disturbed by other guests this late (11:50pm)! Never again! [EDIT] Shower body wash is completely empty. The staff blocked the parking lot exit with a hooptie and didn't bother to tell guests, so it's still blocked upon return and they say I have to display my parking pass to get in. I was not hold this at checkin, I was told to display it when parked only. This hotel is party central for the 4th of July weekend. Standstill traffic on the street. Don't even think about staying here if you want rest. A creepy dude stared at my daughter and I the majority of the time she was in the pool from 9:30 to 11am. Lots of human trafficking signs around, so must not be the safest place, but I appreciate the warning. The AC fluctuates between 74 and 62 even though it stayed on 62 All day. Pool is freezing with a hose pumping ice cold water into it. This place is weird. Best thing about it is the breakfast and Melody who ran the breakfast set up, courtesy, clean up- the whole morning shebang. She's a star, 100% best customer service imaginable. And all the staff were polite, to be honest. But the didn't help keep noise down, and blocking the driveway without warning is just insane, a fire hazard and dangerous on so many levels. All in all, for this price and the many issues, I'd rather pay $20 more to stay at Valhalla Resort if I ever return to the area. EDIT: Whomever responded to my review is not telling the truth. I was not told that they would be blocking off parking on the 4th of July and I was not told to display my past when entering. I don't know why you responded with lies but that even solidifies more that I would not be returning to this location.
