As soon as I entered into my room, the smell of bleach was absolutely overwhelming. I figured it would quickly dissipate and was still lingering from the clean before I moved in. I fanned the room out best I could and tried opening the windows to no avail. I ran the AC aggressively and when that didn't change anything I turned the AC off. I asked to hold cleaning thinking it was the cleaners, the bleach smell still lingers strong as ever. One week later it is still just as strong, like chlorine gas is being actively pumped into my room. My eyes are burning and I am starting to get headaches and nausea, I am at the level where I was considering buying a detector to see just how bad it was in my room. I have asked to move rooms and was dismissively told that there are no availabilities. I have never had anywhere close to a similar situation in any hotel I've ever stayed in.

Great hotel on base, very convenient. My only slight was the lady serving breakfast. Watched me while I ate, like a hawk. Looked at me like I was in her dining room. Everything else was great.

My husband booked me a room and I stayed here on the 12th, 13th and 14th. Spent the first night in the room and everything was decent enough besides the broken drawer and towel that was shredded on the ends and the fact that the fire alarm went of 2 times so we all had to go wait outside. However upon getting ready for bed on the night of the 13th. Right around midnight I saw something scurry across my floor. Now I hate to be the person who is like "omg a bug oh no" but this was so large I saw it across the room. I tried to toughen it out and capture it or kill it but by 2 am I had lost the bug (assumed to be cockroach and will attach pictures of the one in my room and the one we found squished outside upon returning to the hotel the morning of the 14th) so I tried to sit in my bed and pretend it wasn't there. 3am rolled around and the bug crawled up the back of my shirt to which I freaked out, changed my clothes (couldn't find the bug after i flung my clothes off onto the floor), unpacked and repacked all of my stuff and hid the bags in the bathroom so I didn't transport any bugs, and then I went down to the front desk to which nobody was there. I tried to call and after 2 cycles it went to voicemail so I spent the rest of the night in my car until breakfast opened at 7am and I knew somebody would be at the front desk. I explained the whole situation to the lady and showed her the pictures even and basically the only response i got was "Well i guess we can switch you to a new room" and after seeing the picture she said "oh heck no yeah we can move you". We ended up being moved from a room on the second floor with view and easy access to the pool to the end of the third floor facing the parking lot (not that this is important like the bug but still kind of sucked after the experience). As someone who travels quite often and has spent a lot of time in hotels I was actually disgusted by this as I have never encountered a roach before and especially have never had one on me. I will be making sure to steer clear of this hotel the next time I return to base as spending $400 for that experience was not what we expected. I would give 1 star but I gave 2 because there was a girl at the front desk who was extremely kind the whole time before and after this happened. A few of the other staff could use retraining on hospitality unfortunately.

We stayed here this weekend while visiting my son on base. I was excited to find an on post room. Our 1st room had poor wifi service, so our roku we brought wouldn't work. So this morning I went down in inquire if there was anything that could be done. The front desk said they may be able to have maintenance see about the signal. Later in the day we found the issue had persisted, so I requested another room as it was check out time anyway, or be moved to their sister property on post since they had a comparable room. Gia at the front desk was able to move us, and upgraded our room. Thanks again. Y'all rock. We will be back every time we visit.

Gia and the exceptional team at Holiday Inn Express Griffith Hall provided first class customer service that put this new military wife at ease. So much so that I extended my stay! They shared their army experiences, recommended the best route to the airport, answered questions about gates and more! Thanks for making this customer and her soldier feel relaxed and at home!
