I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at this Holiday Inn Express location. What should have been a routine visit quickly turned into a stressful and unsettling experience due to both security concerns and a complete lack of customer care.
On Saturday evening, my husband and I returned to our room, after a night out, only to find that our key cards no longer worked. After going down to the front desk late at night, we were issued new keys without much explanation. Upon re-entering our room, we immediately noticed that our personal belongings had been disturbed. After checking our luggage carefully, it became clear that our items had been searched through, and several belongings , some of which were birthday gifts, were missing.
This was not only invasive but deeply upsetting. Naturally, we went back to the front desk seeking assistance, answers, and reassurance. Instead, we were met with dismissive and unhelpful behavior. No one seemed willing to properly address our concerns. I asked multiple times to speak with a manager, yet three days later, I have still not received a call, email, or any acknowledgment from management.
The only response we were given was that the police had been contacted and that we would need to communicate directly with them. While I understand the importance of involving law enforcement, the hotel has made no apparent effort to support us or provide transparency. We were told that records such as room entry logs and surveillance footage exist, including information about who created new key cards, but no one has followed up or shown any urgency in reviewing or sharing this information.
Every time I call the front desk, I am told the same thing βcontact the police.β It feels like the hotel is more concerned about avoiding liability than addressing a serious breach of guest safety and trust. The implication that a staff member may have accessed our room and taken our belongings makes this situation even more alarming.
I expected professionalism, accountability, and at the very least, basic empathy. Instead, I have experienced indifference and a complete breakdown in customer service. I cannot recommend staying here, as I no longer feel confident that guests or their belongings are safe, nor that management will take responsibility when something goes wrong.
