  I read reviews on this hotel before I chose to stay there. There were a few recent reviews that were critical. I took a chance anyway booked a room and stayed one night before my cruise. After checking in and getting to my room, I did not understand why some of the reviews were negative. The front deck staff were definitely not as enthusiastic as I’ve experienced at other IHG hotels, but I didn’t find them disrespectful or rude. I was able to check in quickly, receive my keys and head to the room. The room appeared to be updated to a certain degree. The heating system looked older, but heating systems aren’t exactly cheap to replace and if it works why replace it and it did work. The bathroom had been updated. This IHG update also included changed hinges and the door knobs on the bathroom door. I’ve stayed at several hotels where they failed to do that. When they don’t change the hinges and the knobs, you’ve got a nice fresh updated bathroom with a rusty old hardware to look at. The one thing that I would’ve updated that they didn’t was the wall plates, light switch plates, and electrical plates. Those covers are a super cheap update to a remodel and they replaced them with the ones that were there, old construction grade yellow. I travel frequently so these things stick out. I wasn’t a fan of the bathroom set up in general with the toilet and the shower in one room and the sink just outside separated by a door. This definitely wouldn’t stop me from staying at this hotel again.

  I came to stay at this hotel for business and I was hungry so I went to the bar and had a few drinks and something to eat. As I am eating at the bar a male bartender named Micheal was being very nasty to your female bartenders he even yelled at the one girl..I was so angry at the way he spoke to the two ladies I asked to speak to a manager and the blonde bartender said the boss left for the day and wasn't available..Micheal was nasty and rude to his coworkers and this should be addressed immediately..besides Michael's nasty attitude my wings were very good and the drink that Lisa made was very refreshing..I think a manger should be present in a restaurant at all times..and management need to talk to Micheal about being a team player because he thinks he is the boss.. I was about to call corporate because I thought he was there boss treating them like crap..My room was very clean and comfortable..but I don't think I'll go back to the resturant until Micheal is gone..I'll eat somewhere else..

  The work staff is extremely loud during the days, allowing for little to no rest for those who work nights or are trying to sleep during the day. Whether it’s slamming doors or yelling and singing to each other, there is little consideration for guests during the six hours it takes them to clean and vacuum the entire floor. The doors have a distinct gap under them, so the noise travels directly into each room.

  My stay at the Holiday Inn Tampa Westshore Airport Area was a decent but ultimately underwhelming experience for the price. I chose this property for its location and brand recognition, but came away feeling that the value did not quite match what I paid. To give credit where it is due — the staff was a genuine bright spot. From check-in to checkout, the team was friendly, professional, and attentive. When I needed assistance, my requests were handled promptly and with a good attitude. It is clear that the people working here care about guest service, and that went a long way. That said, the cleanliness of the property was where things fell short and where my expectations were not met. The room had a lived-in feel that suggested cleaning was more surface-level than thorough. The bathroom had soap scum buildup along the edges of the tub that should have been scrubbed out before my arrival. The toilet base and floor around it showed signs of neglect, and the bathroom mirror had streaks that made it obvious a proper wipe-down had not happened recently. In the room itself, I noticed dust along the top of the headboard and around the base of the TV. The carpet had a couple of noticeable stains near the foot of the bed. The air conditioning unit had a faint musty smell when first turned on — which suggests the filter may be overdue for a change. These are not catastrophic issues, but for a Holiday Inn at these rates, they are things that should simply not be present. The bed was comfortable and I slept decently well. The room was a reasonable size and had the standard amenities you would expect. The pool area looked nice, though I did not use it. The bar and restaurant on site were convenient for a quick meal. Location is genuinely good — easy access to the airport, close to Westshore shopping and dining, and the surrounding area has plenty of options. That part of the stay delivered. Overall, this is a three-star experience masquerading as a four-star price tag. Fix the housekeeping consistency and this would be a much easier recommendation.

  Stayed at Holiday Inn Tampa Westshore and unfortunately had a pretty disappointing experience. The room felt much more dated than what was shown in the photos. The biggest issue was that we had no hot water for our entire 3-day stay. Maintenance came by but didn’t actually fix anything, so the problem was never resolved. On top of that, the stay was extremely overpriced - we paid close to $300 a night, which definitely did not match the quality or experience. Overall, not the level of comfort or service we were expecting.
