  I rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. From the moment we walked in, the common areas smelled like a mix of body odor, marijuana, and mold. The staff acted as though guests were an inconvenience rather than customers. The complimentary breakfast was disappointing—cold, poorly prepared, and barely edible. Unfortunately, the rooms were no better. They were not clean, and even the bed sheets appeared unwashed, making it impossible to feel comfortable. Overall, the entire experience was unpleasant from start to finish. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, even if it were the only available option. In fact, I would recommend flying into a different airport altogether rather than staying at this property.

  Best Western Plus Sanford.  It’s the opposite of Best… No Bueno!  It smells like wet mold and carpets are dirty!   Room smells like wet dog or mildew. I don’t trust walking barefoot on the carpet. The Front Desk has no hospitality! Her greeting was “Yes!”… I was like No! 😂.  She asked my name and just handed my keys.  No welcome greeting or anything!  I had to ask about amenities.  I’m actually starting to itch as we speak.  Hotel feels, smells, looks dirty.  I think my silence is transparent, because Front Desk is being nice to me now… will see 🥴 If I cannot stand it, I may switch hotels and get refund for this one?  I may just stay for one night and move tomorrow, unless the stench becomes really bad to take for the whole day/night.

  Solid hotel option midway between the Sanford Airport and historic downtown Sanford and Lake Monroe. Friendly staff and decent free breakfast. Room was quiet and comfortable and bed comfy. Bathroom needed a remodel and had numerous maintenance issues. Several restaurants an easy walk.

  I’ll start with the positives. The staff was friendly, there was coffee available 24/7, the complimentary breakfast was good, and the hotel is very convenient to the airport. Unfortunately, the rest of our stay was disappointing. 1. Room security: When we arrived, the door lock was bent and the deadbolt would not engage properly. I went to the front desk with a photo, and they initially offered to move us. However, no rooms were actually available because the alternate room also had maintenance issues. Thankfully, maintenance repaired our door the following day, but it’s concerning that a room was rented with a lock that didn’t secure properly. 2. Room condition: The room had a strong mildew odor, and the air coming from the air conditioner smelled musty, as if the filters hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time. 3. Fitness center: I wanted to use the gym, but the disinfecting wipes were completely dried out, the large water dispenser was empty even though it was set up as if it were available, and there wasn’t even a trash can to dispose of the used wipe I had taken from the container. 4. Parking and guest access: Parking was already limited because part of the lot was closed for repaving, which is understandable. However, on our last day, the front entrance was blocked off with cones and caution tape. While carrying all of my luggage, I had to stop because the only way through was to lift a rope high above my head and duck underneath it. That is not an appropriate or accessible way for guests to enter or exit the property. I went back inside and asked the front desk how we were supposed to get to our car. The response was simply that I needed to lift the rope and go under it. Even though it was obvious my hands were full, no one offered to help or provide an alternate route. 5. Overall condition: The hotel feels old and in need of renovation. It seems like air fresheners and cosmetic patches are being used to cover up the building’s age instead of addressing the underlying issues. I appreciate the friendly staff and convenient location, but the maintenance, cleanliness, and overall condition of the property did not meet my expectations. I hope these issues are addressed because the hotel has the potential to be much better.
