Westgate River Ranch used to be an exceptional destination, offering an authentic experience that truly celebrated the traditions and spirit of the American Old West. That authenticity was exactly what made so many of us want to return year after year. Unfortunately, I feel that management has moved away from that original vision. During several activities, music and entertainment have been introduced that, in my opinion, do not fit the ranch's original concept. It seems that the experience is being reshaped to appeal to different audiences, including a greater focus on the Cuban community, rather than preserving the identity that made River Ranch so unique. I have no issue with cultural diversity Florida is a diverse state, and that is one of its greatest strengths. However, every destination has its own identity, and I believe Westgate River Ranch is losing its own by replacing its traditional atmosphere with entertainment that no longer reflects the ranch's authentic Western character. My concern is not with any community, but with management's decision to change what made this place so special. I sincerely hope management listens to the many guests who appreciated the authentic spirit of Westgate River Ranch and considers bringing back the atmosphere that made it such a unique destination. Sadly, it no longer delivers the one-of-a-kind experience that once set it apart.

I’ve visited their water park twice using the one-day pass. The price is reasonable, the facilities are excellent, and it has a great family-friendly atmosphere. My only concern is that it doesn’t seem like they monitor the number of guests inside the park, so it can feel extremely overcrowded at times, which also raises concerns about safety. Anyone can bring in backpacks, coolers, and other belongings, yet there doesn’t appear to be any security screening at the entrance. It makes me wonder what measures are in place to prevent someone from bringing a weapon into a place where the majority of visitors are children. This concern is even greater considering how crowded the park gets and how narrow the main entrance and exit are. In the event of an emergency, that could easily become a dangerous situation. For example, on June 27, the entire park was evacuated due to bad weather. Everyone had to leave through the same main entrance and exit at the same time, and it became somewhat chaotic because of the large crowd. I also think the park should consider adopting a policy similar to what many larger theme parks do. Instead of immediately evacuating everyone from the entire property as soon as lightning begins, they could have guests leave the water and wait in designated safe areas for a reasonable amount of time (15–30 minutes) to see if the weather improves. If conditions remain unsafe, then a full evacuation would make sense. As soon as the thunder started, everyone was required not only to leave the water—which is completely understandable—but also to leave the entire facility, including the seating areas, bar, and other covered spaces. We had arrived early, so we were still able to enjoy several hours at the park. However, I felt bad for families who had just arrived and essentially lost their entire visit without even having the opportunity to wait and see if the weather would clear up. After all, this is Florida, where the weather changes very quickly, and that’s something everyone expects. Overall, it’s a great place to spend the day with your family, and the facilities are excellent. However, I believe there are some important improvements that should be made, especially when it comes to guest safety. Also, if possible, try to avoid visiting during peak season. The park gets so crowded that you may not even be able to find a place to sit. (The reference photos are from my first visit on April 3 of this year, when there were not even half as many people as there were during my most recent visit this past June.)

We stayed in the glamping area over the Fourth of July weekend and paid about $1,300 for a two-night stay. I understand holiday weekends are more expensive, but I still expected a much better glamping experience. The best part of the tent was the A/C. Be aware there is no Wi-Fi, and the bathrooms are located in a separate bathhouse. The good news is that each tent is assigned its own private bathroom. If you stay here, bring your own food. Every site has a grill, and you’ll probably enjoy it more than most of the restaurants. We were disappointed with the BBQ restaurant, and the pool food options were very limited. The steakhouse was the only restaurant we really enjoyed. The Adventure Park was underwhelming, but the water park was fantastic and definitely the highlight of the trip for the kids. Would I come back? Yes, for the water park—but I would skip the glamping. For the price we paid, I expected better amenities, better food, and an overall more premium experience.

We had a wonderful time at Westgate River Ranch Resort & Rodeo with our 3-year-old son and our daughter, who turned 15 during our stay. On her birthday, she was excited to get her favorite Starbucks drink, a Caramel Ribbon Crunch. Unfortunately, when we stopped by, the server simply told us, "We don't make those drinks here," which was disappointing. The next day, we went back to get ice cream for our 3-year-old, and that's when we met Dana. She was so kind and welcoming while serving our son. We happened to mention what had happened the day before, and Dana immediately said she could absolutely make the drink because they had all the ingredients. She wasn't sure why we had been told otherwise. Her kindness, positive attitude, and willingness to help turned our daughter's disappointment into a special memory. She truly went above and beyond, and we're so grateful for the excellent customer service she provided. Thank you, Dana, for making our daughter's birthday trip even more memorable. You made a real difference, and we hope you receive the recognition you deserve!

We just returned from our first 4-night stay at Westgate River Ranch with our two daughters, and I wanted to take a moment to recognize Kylee Simcox for the outstanding service she provided throughout our visit. Kylee went above and beyond from the very beginning. She was always attentive, friendly, and genuinely interested in making sure our family had everything we needed. Whether we had a question, needed information about the resort, or simply crossed paths outside our room, she always greeted us with a smile and made us feel welcome. One gesture that especially stood out was when she had towels ready for us at the water park before it even opened. It may seem like a small thing, but it made our morning with two young children so much easier and showed how much she cares about the guest experience. What impressed us most was that her kindness never felt forced—it felt genuine. She consistently went out of her way to check on us and make sure our family was enjoying our stay. Kylee was a big part of what made our first visit to Westgate River Ranch such a wonderful experience. Employees like her are rare, and she deserves recognition for the exceptional customer service she provides every day. Thank you, Kylee, for helping create such special memories for our family. We truly appreciated everything you did for us. The room was absolutely amazing. I just wish they would have told us that we were right next to the saloon.🤣 It was a little loud throughout the night, but thankfully we’re easy-going and we didn’t mind
