This place is fantastic, especially since there are tons of restaurants just around the corner! They have a swimming pool and a delicious breakfast that includes scrambled eggs, bagels, bread, and yogurt. We did run into a minor issue with the toaster, but we got it sorted out. There’s plenty of free parking right on the property. Plus, there’s a swimming pool for some relaxation, and a small gym too. It’s about a 30-minute drive from Panama Beach.
My recent stay at BWP Panama City, FL. I got to the hotel on Sunday (6/14/26). I was assigned room 321. When I got to the room I noticed a strange smell. I also noticed a dehumidifier (i thought it was an air purifier until I got to the front desk to request a room change). I was told every room had a dehumidifier because of the humidity in FL. I was then assigned room 210. When I got off the elevator on the 2nd floor there was an awful smell. The room seemed okay so we stayed. Tuesday morning (6/16/26), I noticed that clothes in my suitcase were damp. When we returned later that day I realized that all of my clothes, and other items including the bed sheets, towels, and boxes (drinks, forks, candy, etc.) were damp. I reached out to the front desk and was told I could switch rooms or get a dehumidifier (remember I was told that every room had one). I didn't want to move again so I opted for the dehumidifier. Wednesday morning I got up and called corporate. Since I was still at the property I was told they had to contact the property to see what could be done. I was told they could show me 3 rooms or refund me for the next day of the reservation (if I decided to leave). Room 210 seemed okay so how could I be sure that the other 3 rooms were "okay"? Wednesday night we got back in and I opened the microwave to warm some food. IT WAS DISGUSTING!!!!! I called the front desk to ask about a microwave and she asked if the one in the room was working. I told her it was very dirty and I showed pictures. She escorted me to the kitchen area to warm my food. I got back to the room and noticed water droplets on the ceiling. I have 3 children all with asthma and allergies. Now mold and mildew is a concern. My reservation was over on Thursday (6/18/26). However, I had another one set to start the same day. I left determined to find another room because I couldn't/wouldn't allow my kids to stay another minute in that place. I found another hotel and humidity is NOT a problem. So, is humidity in the hotel a FL issue or a BWP Panama City problem? This is by far THE WORST Best Western Plus experience I have ever had and I will NEVER stay there again.
As a rewards member, my STANDARDS and EXPECTATIONS for BWP were not met and I am VERY disappointed.
BWP in Magee, MS set the bar high and Panama City, FL lowered them.
The one star is definitely because I couldn't leave zero! I will say that Sarah, at the front desk, was very nice and considerate!

This was hands down one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had.
I am a Best Western Rewards member and a member of the United States Air Force, so I have stayed in plenty of hotels over the years. My sister and I booked this hotel for a vacation before my upcoming deployment, and while Panama City Beach was beautiful, this hotel completely ruined the experience.
On our first night, we found multiple huge cockroaches in our room. One was crawling on my personal belongings that were sitting on the bed. We immediately reported it and were moved from Room 328 to Room 126.
Unfortunately, the second room wasn't any better.
The next evening, the microwave sparked and shut down while we were heating up leftovers, burning our food container in the process. We called multiple times requesting fresh towels and bedding and never received them.
Later that night, we found another massive cockroach crawling around the room. It eventually crawled into my blanket, which I ended up leaving behind because I no longer felt comfortable taking it home.
When we reported the issue, a front desk employee told us this was a known and ongoing problem at the hotel. That alone should tell you everything you need to know.
We tried contacting management but couldn't reach anyone. Customer service initially offered a $25 gift card, which was honestly insulting considering we paid hundreds of dollars for our stay. Because the entire area was booked for the weekend, we had no choice but to remain at the hotel despite the conditions.
To make matters worse, we ended up buying our own Raid spray and treating the room ourselves because we had zero confidence the problem was being handled.
We have videos and photos documenting everything.
The hotel may look nice at first glance, but appearances are deceiving. Between the roach infestation, faulty microwave, lack of response from management, and poor customer service, this was a complete disaster.
Save your money and stay somewhere else.
Did an extended 5 night stay. Housekeeping stated they clean the rooms every 3 days or upon request. When I requested, they said I had to ask the front desk and then didnt come until the next day. When they came, they took the trash and brought new towels. They did not change the bedding or vacuum. Apparently you have to ask for that to be done. They didnt have biscuits and gravy, no cream cheese, juice machine wasnt working and yogurt machine wasnt working for the entire stay. You can get coffee beverages any time. Front desk is rarely around, I had to leave a written note once and they weren't around at check out. Pool needs to be cleaned more. There were bugs and bandaids in the pool. This hotel is about half an hour from the pier park area, traffic wasnt too bad but its far off from the main area if you want to be closer. There are several buffets right around this hotel. The price for 2 rooms 5 nights was around $1300 which isnt bad but the service isnt great.

Best Western here in Panama is in a decent spot thats about 20-30 minutes from St. Andrew's Park and other public beach access spots, about 30 minutes from Pier Park and other tourism locations. The traffic isn't terrible unless it's a busy weekend, and the location is ideal for the price.
The only issue we had that's worth mentioning is that the staff sometimes let the trash cans completely overfill before they start emptying them out.
The breakfast area has the basic waffles, cereal, eggs, sausage and hash browns; the yogurt machine wasn't working.
Our room was clean and tidy when we first arrived, so overall not a bad hotel. The pool area is pretty nice and clean, no hot tub though but the kids loved it regardless. A good spot for vacation goers on a budget.
