    This hotel rooms are updated however they could use better cleaning practices. It was clean for the most part but missed the mark with fingerprints etc and that was gross. This was my first time in PCB and it seemed just okay.

    Rooms were remodeled. A little mold in the shower. Took off stars because we used the fold out and the sheets were obviously dirty. Hair, crumbs, etc. Tried calling the front desk. No answer. Went down and they were quick to remedy it. After that it wAs a great stay

    I would not recommend this place at all. While friendly at check-in the place quickly showed its true colors during our stay. The major issue was the maid removed my luggage, refrigerated items and clothes laying out to dry prior to my check out time at 11 am. I returned to my room well before 11 am and found all my items missing. When i asked for my items, the maid said she thought we had checked out and she actually threw out hundreds of dollars worth of items. She had no remorse and the first layer of management was not fixing or finding my items. It was so bad, I had to call the police. I simple sorry and a FULL replacement of my items would've solved this but they decided to deny and deflect. I will never take my family to this hotel and most likely stay away from IHG entirely. Also, the rooms and pool area is now ran down substantially. Unless you're a die hard IHG member, I'd go elsewhere in PCB.

    So you HAVE to park across the street and rely on their golf cart shuttle to and from the resort…. Which is actually quite fun in years past. But lately the carts have been broken down ! Which means you are forced to take a looooong walk down under the tunnel up a hill to the resort. Not necessarily “luxury” experience you are paying top dollar for!!! 😳 I’m staying at this resort as I write this and it’s been raining a lot! All the resort guests are having to walk a long way in the rain to get to their cars! What!? They really need to get more carts - not to mention the obvious decline in maintenance around the property! The showers in from the beach are all janky- the beautiful fountain for the pool isn’t even running (is it broken?) and we can’t even sit on the patio for the breakfast restaurant which is the only thing I actually like about that restaurant. The staff is all absolutely excellent, helpful, and very friendly so at least they are getting that right! It’s not smoker friendly by any means which probably appeals to most but if you do have a smoker in your party they have 2 spots - one by the garbage cans in front (very dilapidated) and one by the beach (again dilapidated!) - if it’s raining expect to get soaked on the way to them. 🤷‍♀️ I’ve stayed at this resort every year for a few years now and the consistent decline is quite obvious and disappointing. You would think at the price point they would be more on top of it.

    Leaving two stars because we booked this with high expectations and researching and following their social medias I decided this would be perfect for our kids. First when we got there the girl at the front desk was super rude and had an extreme attitude like she hated her job. She seemed annoyed we were checking in? lol then when we needed two extra towels on top of the total we get for the room she asked me why I needed a towel for my hair and told me one should be enough…. Also, when we first got into her room, it smelled very musty Which I called the right away about because it was pretty strong as we stay there and open the door. I did get a little bit better. but we also had to call to get our room cleaned, or garbage took out, which was also frustrating. The manager on duty however her name was Victoria was very kind and apologized for the employees behavior. Victoria was very professional and kind. However being treated this way by another employee was annoying because as a paying guest I assumed we would be able to get as many towels as we needed (within reason) otherwise I would have packed our own… I ended up talking to who I now know is the general manager of the property and I will say with him being there the day that I spoke with him I wish it would’ve been dealt with a little bit better. I had no idea he was the general manager when I told him how she acted.. And then a couple other things that were frustrating that were not told to us was the ice cream shop was completely shut down when we purchased our stay we assumed this was open because there is nothing about it when we bought our stay. Also in their social media, they sold us on the fact that the mermaid would be swimming in the pool with the children, but when we were there, she was just walking on the deck. She never got on the water the whole week we were there- This was specifically frustrating because we had told our kids that they had this and they were super excited and then to not have that happen was really upsetting …they also did not have the mascots at the pool which was also advertised and I actually called the resort prior to booking and talked to someone directly there who reassured me the mascots are at the pool only to find out it’s only in the summer not spring. Also none of the waterfalls in the lobby or pool were working when we were. We also were not able to use the sauna at night or in the morning because there was a whole family sleeping in it that were not guests at the resort. Which was sad but also frustrating because we weren’t able to use that amenity. I did call the front desk and security did go deal with it but at first the staff was defensive claiming to not judge but yet it was alarming that people who weren’t resort guests were sleeping in the sauna from 9:00 pm- 6 am I called to speak to a manager and was told the gym would be calling back but I never actually got a call back. We spent a lot of money that week and personally how we were treated over hair towels was appalling I have had better service at a holiday inn express regarding towels. I will say I the food was amazing and we had the sweetest waitress name Dee who was amazing and went above and beyond but overall the amenities we paid for that weren’t available was very frustrating When you’re on vacation you want to enjoy the stay and not worry about things not being there that you thought would be in the price you paid. After talking to several guests, we were not the only ones I felt this way that we were all out of people frustrated with the closed amenities and mermaid not swimming Hoping in their committed straight and finally get back to me with a phone call it was promised
