I purchased my stay through Priceline. So I couldn’t get Rewards credit for my 2 night stay. I arrived close to 10 am and was able to check in early for a fee, thanks to David! Since I had arrived on the Red Eye from 2 time zones away with 3 school aged children- this was a blessing… since we had a kitchen, we went to ALDI and got food- and were able to nap, swim, cook, eat and back to sleep! We all slept quite well.
Breakfast was quite good- even when we only caught the last 15 minutes- lot of choices, even yogurt granola and fresh fruit! I had plenty of low gluten/gluten free options to choose. Many people chose to take food back to their room, but we enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere of the breakfast room- and helpful staff. The lady who ran breakfast on the weekdays was so nice, I couldn’t read her name tag, I should have asked her.
Our room was clean on arrival and the air conditioner worked well- so well, my kids complained of cold every morning (hahaha)- I didn’t mind :-D.
Now, the room I give 4 stars- maybe 3. It was clean and I had all I really needed. I tried to wash up after dinner and discovered I had no dish soap/dishwasher soap or sponge. I tried to ask (I do not have enough/proper words in Spanish) and after a phone call by the housekeeper to someone whom I explained I needed dish soap to wash the dishes, Maintenance arrived to assess the dishwasher… lost in translation. But it was a good thing, because the toilet intake hose seemed to be leaking and they fixed it then and there- used the bath at to clean up the water and brought a clean one right back to me! The night before checkout, I realized my groceries were not very cold in the fridge, I had even adjusted the temp to be colder… I planned to drive a few hours the next day with an insulated bag- I tried to freeze water for that. I put my perishables in the freezer to chill better. One small bottle of water mostly froze and another partially frozen, and one just got chilled. The big bottle was cold- not frozen. The ice maker worked, so I added the cubes to partially frozen and big chilled bottle to help my cooler bag stay cold. I suspect if I had let Maintenance know when they were there, it would have gotten fixed.
My room was also missing some of the kitchen ware. I had three glass bowls and 2 plastic lids, 1 lid fit a bowl- 1 lid didn’t fit anything. So there must have been a middle size missing, and a small lid missing. We had 3 spoons and table knives, 4 forks. 3 large plates, 4 salad plates and soup bowls. Again, I didn’t ask for more- as I didn’t need them for my stay. I am confident, based on all the service I recorded, that these things would have been remedied if I had asked. So I will mark the room down a star- but still would recommend, very family friendly, and would stay again!
Also, worth noting, there was free WiFi, and the room had a DVD player- if I had known, likely would’ve packed some DVDs. It did occur to me there might be a lending library at the front desk- again, didn’t ask.
The bedroom had a lamp with outlet and USB port- which I discovered does not work with the wall switch in the “off” position. So I switched the lamp off at the base to utilize charging and power through the night.
