    I am extremely disappointed with our experience at the InterContinental Miami. We specifically called ahead before our stay and made two requests: (1) a room with a view facing the 4th of July fireworks, and (2) reservations for two people for the hotel’s 4th of July pool deck celebration. We were assured over the phone that both requests would be taken care of. When we arrived, we discovered that neither promise had been honored. Our room did not face the fireworks as promised, and the front desk informed us that the 4th of July celebration had already sold out and that no reservations had been made for us. If the hotel could not accommodate these requests, we would have appreciated honesty from the beginning instead of being told everything was confirmed. We planned our holiday around these promises, only to arrive and find out they were never fulfilled. It completely changed our experience and was a huge disappointment. For a hotel that markets itself as providing exceptional service, this level of miscommunication and lack of follow-through is unacceptable. We expected much better, especially for a special holiday stay. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we cannot recommend this hotel and will not be staying here again in the future.

    I enjoyed my stay and the hospitality, and the hotel overall. However, my bathroom looked like housekeeping skimped over it (hairs in the sink and bath tub). The floor tiles were so dark in the shower that I couldn't tell whether it was properly cleaned or not.. Also, I was a solo traveler that turned the tv on (to the page where it shows your name, the facility, and plays house music) to medium volume, and instead of calling me to tell me to turn it down, the hotel immediately escalated the situation - unnecessarily - by sending the manager to my door to ask me to turn it down. Very odd, when a simple phone call would have sufficed.

    One of the best hotels in Downtown. The location is excellent, with easy access to the city’s main attractions, restaurants, and shopping areas. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and the staff is friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The hotel offers a great balance of quality, comfort, and value. Whether you’re traveling for business or leisure, it’s an outstanding choice. I had a wonderful stay and would definitely return on my next visit.

    Great Rooms, Horrible Reception, and a Bad Water Policy The rooms and suites are excellent, but unfortunately the service experience overshadowed the stay. During checkout, I was running late for a flight when a visibly intoxicated guest was being assisted at reception. The guest did not have ID and was not registered under the room. While staff were attempting to contact the registered guest, I politely asked if my checkout could be processed in the meantime. The receptionist responded, “Here in America, we respect the line.” I found the comment unnecessary, unprofessional, and disrespectful. The hotel’s water policy was equally frustrating. Bottled water in the room costs $8 per bottle. No complimentary water is provided in the room, there are no water dispensers on guest floors, and guests must go down to the ground floor every time they need drinking water. I have stayed in many hotels that promote sustainability, yet still provide convenient access to water for guests. This hotel does not. To make matters worse, I was charged $55 for an intimacy kit that I did not use. As an IHG Diamond member, who is hosting and paying for 19 other rooms,this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have had. While the rooms are great, the service, guest experience, and water policy need significant improvement.

    We chose this hotel expecting a luxurious and relaxing experience, especially considering the reputation of InterContinental Miami. Unfortunately, our stay was significantly affected by one major issue. The relaxation area and pool are dominated by extremely loud club music played by a DJ throughout the entire day. Many guests openly commented among themselves that it was impossible to truly relax or enjoy the atmosphere because of the constant noise. A luxury hotel should provide a peaceful environment for guests seeking rest and tranquility. While occasional music can enhance the ambiance, all-day loud club music is not appropriate for a relaxation area. Despite several requests from guests, the staff did not reduce the volume or stop the DJ. This was very disappointing and greatly diminished the overall experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, but the inability to rest by the pool due to excessive noise was truly frustrating and far below the standard expected from a luxury property.
