Our stay at the InterContinental Miami was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences we’ve ever had. We traveled as two families to celebrate my brother’s Bar Mitzvah and booked 4 rooms for 10 people. Breakfast was included in our reservation, so we expected a smooth and enjoyable stay. Instead, every day brought a new problem. The latest issue was an unauthorized breakfast charge on our credit card, even though breakfast was included. On top of that, the hotel had already placed a $400 USD authorization hold on each room. We were never informed about these additional charges. When we questioned the charges, the hotel claimed they were connected to only one room. That explanation was false, as the attached receipt clearly shows charges that do not match what we were told. The most disappointing part of our stay was the way the situation was handled by the Front Desk Manager, Genesis Carbone. Rather than listening to our concerns or taking responsibility for resolving the billing errors, we felt that our complaints were dismissed and that no genuine effort was made to correct the mistake. The lack of professionalism and customer care was unacceptable. A family celebration should be about making memories—not spending hours arguing over incorrect charges and trying to get honest answers. For a hotel that presents itself as luxury, this level of service is simply unacceptable. We left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and taken advantage of. I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

We chose the InterContinental Miami for a family vacation and to celebrate a birthday. We booked four rooms for four nights, expecting a true five-star experience based on the hotel’s reputation and ratings. Unfortunately, we left very disappointed. The rooms felt surprisingly dark, with very poor lighting. Even more surprising, the shower only has an overhead rainfall showerhead. In over 20 years of staying in hotels around the world, I have never encountered a bathroom without a handheld shower. What if someone doesn’t want to wash their hair every time they shower? It’s simply impractical. Breakfast was another disappointment. Cappuccino and other specialty coffees came with an additional charge, even though breakfast was included. At most five-star hotels, this is considered a standard part of the breakfast experience. We were a group of ten people (staying in four rooms) having breakfast together every morning. While we saw other large groups being accommodated with long tables, we were squeezed into small tables. On the last morning, one of us was unexpectedly asked to sign for breakfast without any explanation. Since breakfast was included in all four reservations, this seemed very unusual. Later, we discovered a $100 charge because, apparently, only one room number had been written down. We had informed the staff every morning which four rooms belonged to our group, so this charge resulted from poor communication and confusing procedures rather than anything we did wrong. Overall, the service felt inconsistent, the hotel lacked the attention to detail and hospitality you would expect from a luxury property, and the pool was quite small. For the price, this hotel simply does not deliver a true five-star experience. In our opinion, it feels much closer to a three star hotel, and we would not choose to stay here again.

Our experience at the InterContinental Miami was extremely disappointing. We arrived as two families to celebrate my brother’s Bar Mitzvah. We booked 4 rooms for a total of 10 guests, and breakfast was included in our reservation. Unfortunately, every single day we were met with a new problem. Today was the final straw. As shown in the attached screenshot, the hotel placed a false charge on our credit card. On top of the $400 USD authorization hold for each room, they also charged us for breakfast without any notice, even though breakfast was included in our reservation. When we asked for an explanation, they claimed the breakfast charges were linked to only one room, which is simply not true. The attached receipt clearly shows otherwise. What made the situation even worse was our interaction with the Front Desk Manager, Genesis Carbone. Instead of taking the time to investigate the issue or help resolve it professionally, we felt that our concerns were dismissed and handled in an unhelpful and unsympathetic manner. This only added to our frustration during what was supposed to be a special family celebration. Instead of enjoying our trip, we spent our time dealing with billing mistakes and poor customer service. We expected much better from a hotel of this standard. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend staying here. Don’t visit this place.

Our group of 10 stayed at the InterContinental Miami for 4 nights in early August 2026, and I honestly don't understand how this place is rated as a 5-star hotel. Our experience fell far short of what you'd expect for the price and supposed luxury. First, the basic amenities and room conditions were incredibly disappointing. We asked for something as simple as water for the in-room coffee machines, and the staff flat-out told us they don't supply it. It's absurd for a hotel in this category. Furthermore, our rooms had no ceiling lights, making them feel dim and uninviting, and there wasn't even a water handle in the shower! The housekeeping was practically nonexistent; they didn't clean the rooms or replace the sheets, even after we pointed out a visible stain on one of the pillows. The breakfast at Olé, which the hotel claims is a "sumptuous buffet", was terrible. The selection was extremely poor—there was no salad and hardly any vegetables (not even a simple cucumber or pepper). The croissants tasted like cold leftovers from the day before, and there was no way to heat them up. To make matters worse, despite breakfast being included in our booking, we were forced to sign for it every single morning, and they kept trying to charge us daily. Overall, the service was severely lacking, and the accommodations felt very basic. You can easily find a much better hotel in Miami for your money. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.

I had a fantastic stay at the InterContinental Miami. The service was excellent from start to finish, and the entire team was professional, friendly, and attentive throughout my visit. Everything felt smooth and well taken care of, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The lounge was also a real highlight. It was outstanding by domestic standards and easily on par with what I’d expect from an international hotel of this level. The quality, atmosphere, and overall experience were all impressive. I also really enjoyed the nice art collection throughout the property, which added a thoughtful and memorable touch to the stay. Overall, this was a top-notch experience, and I would absolutely recommend the InterContinental Miami for the great service, excellent lounge, and beautiful art collection.
