Booked room through IHG...texting with Ray....choosed a room with king size bed and full ocean view....once we got here I was told that the king size room does not have full ocean view and no room switch was available. Ray should have told me, I would have booked a different room because I wanted full ocean view. Very dissapointed. Now I am in my room 606. With loud noises/music from a restaurant area downstairs. On the 6th floor...not even a beach view...only building next to ours. Rooms are clean. Fresh roll of toilet paper has yellow stains on it....yuck. Not a place for me to come back to when I come in town to see kids and grandkids.

We arrived for a 4 night 5 day stay. The lobby and restaurant seem upgraded besides the lobby furniture that is stained. The rooms are very minimal. House keeping came in each day and only took trash out never made the beds. The Starbucks coffee area was open during weird times or mainly closed. It sits on the beach which is a plus. Valet is 8 dollars a day or you can park across the street and walk over each day. The pool is super small. There’s a dehumidifier in the room that’s never used. Also if you need extra blankets you’ll need to call because there’s no in the room. The elevator is so slow !

Very disappointed in a crown plaza hotel. I spend over 200 nights a year for work and my wife and I decided to come here for our one Year anniversary. As a diamond elite member I expected a top tier room not one on the second floor overlooking the parking lot. The room was updated but it was impossible to close the front door and bathroom door without force. Longboards is a great restaurant with good food and Great drinks. Resort fees and pretty much valet parking only option is also less then ideal. We expected more from a crown plaza. Also there was no microwave, housekeeping did a poor job as well. Oh one last thing for new travelers..never use a debit card..I was charged almost 600 bucks on my visa card..I know the charges will be reversed but there is zero reason to charge my credit card especially at my level of IHG..super disappointed

We stayed for one night. Not a pleasant stay. Property is dirty, there is no security to walk in the hotel giving anyone access to the pool, beach and elevators… there was live music and the police was called to remove a random person that was not part of the hotel guest. The hotel and the room was not clean. We travel a lot and we picked Crown Plaza because of the location, to enjoy beach and pool, but it was very crowded, dirty and uncomfortable. We did not enjoy our staying.

First time here for an overnight quick getaway, unfortunately the weather wasn't great to truly appreciate the proximity to the beach and the pool. The hotel overall is nice and the staff was very nice, and the hotel looked recently renovated. Our experience was with the rooms. First issue was the key card not allowing access to the room. When I went to exchange the key, the woman at the front desk explained that sometimes the salt water can mess up the light and it won't turn green, but the door should still open. Our door didn't open, but OK no big deal. When we got into room #1, my husband saw water on the floor between the beds. When we looked up the ceiling was wet from the water and the paint had peeled. There was another spot that was bubbled and you could tell there was obvious water damage. The front desk accommodated and gave us another room. Room #2 had a ceiling with peeling paint, but we decided to sleep in the other bed. However, I put my phone down on the bed and went to the bathroom, when I came back my phone and part of the bed was covered with the peeling paint from the ceiling. My husband didn't feel comfortable sleeping in that room, and we tried not to think that maybe there may be asbestos in the peeling paint (hopefully not!). The third room was the "charm" we only noted a brown spot on the ceiling by the curtain rod. It had been raining that whole week and apparently the rain was exposing the leaks in these rooms. From my brief experience in hospitality, these issues should've been noted by either the maintenance staff, housekeeping or noted by a previous guest complaint and fixed before assigning the room to anyone else. The Crown Plaza is typically thought of as a nicer hotel and these rooms although clean and looked recently renovated should be in the best conditions possible. We did tell the front desk the next morning and they gave us a complimentary breakfast voucher. We also called the corporate customer line. The representative took the information then said don't expect to get a response. This isn't about getting a free meal, stay, etc., but it is about having rooms offered to guests, so they aren't inconvenienced or possibly put in danger of a collapsing ceiling or slippery wet floor. Everything else about the stay was fine, the restaurant on site Longboards Oceanfront Grille had a nice breakfast buffet, and dinner was good enough, maybe a little pricey but it's an oceanfront hotel, to be expected. They had live music when we got in Thursday night. People were dancing and having a fun time. This is a great location; the beach is literally a few steps away. The stay would've been great if the weather was better and we didn't have to switch rooms a few times.
