  While the hotel was kept clean, the property is noticeably dated, and many of the fixtures show heavy corrosion. Unfortunately, the room carried a strong, musty odor—likely mildew—that completely permeated my belongings by the time I checked out. More concerning, however, was a major security vulnerability: the exterior stairwell door is missing its strike plate and cannot lock. This leaves the entire property easily accessible to the general public and poses a serious safety risk for guests.

  I had just had a poor experience at a hotel next door, ran by the same management company I believe, and the young lady at the front desk was extremely helpful. She found us a room and was very helpful. She is a star for this location. The one bad interaction is witnessed was at breakfast, which was pretty good. It was about time for them to clean it up for the morning and the woman in charge of that made, what in my opinion, a very rude announcement. She basically accosted the dining room/ lobby area which had a total of six people with a condescending, curt, and abrasive announcement. I don't want to misquote her. She could have delivered the same message more politely and with a much better attitude. I do not get offended easily but the way she talked at the group of paying customers was very unprofessional and I think most would agree. Maybe she was hating an off day, maybe that's not her normal gig, idk but she was a stark contrast to the wonderful lady that helped us when we arrived the previous day. It was right at 9am 5/8/26. I would go back just probably try to go to breakfast way earlier.

  The lady that works the front desk is such a helpful and carrying persons I think her name is sherry she help use when we was broke down to find someone to fix our car !!

  First time in Live Oak. I arrived well before the official check in time on a Thursday and was quite pleased when I was permitted to check in. The hotel is very quiet — no loud traffic noises — and quite comfortable. I was here for six nights. After two days of leaving the do-not-disturb sign on the door, the housekeeping lady asked if I needed anything. Being low maintenance, I did not, but I really appreciated her asking. Everything about my stay was great except for broken USB charging ports and flaky WiFi. I ended up using my phone as a hotspot, and that seemed to work better than the WiFi, which seemed to drop periodically. If I was to come back to Live Oak, I’d stay here again.
