  Let's call this attraction what it really is for many paying guests: 12 minutes of air conditioning and a chance to sit down. After walking miles around Magic Kingdom in the Florida heat, Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress was a welcome opportunity to cool off and give our feet a break. The theater was comfortable, and it managed to keep our kids just interested enough that the adults could actually relax for a few minutes. As for the attraction itself, we found it pretty dated and, honestly, a bit boring. I can appreciate its place in Disney history, but it's not something we'd make a point of riding again. That said, if you need a break from the heat, want to recharge, or have young kids who need a few minutes off their feet, it serves that purpose very well. Sometimes that's exactly what you need in the middle of a long park day.
