My family and I were pleasantly surprised by both the room and the overall property at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. We have stayed at a range of Disney properties, from the All-Star Resorts to the Grand Floridian and Polynesian, and Pop Century exceeded our expectations.
The only downside was having a room that faced the busy pool area. During the day and evening, we could hear the pool games, music, and movies being played on the lawn at night. Having some background noise, such as the television, helped.
The two pools offered very different but enjoyable experiences. The main family pool was fun, lively, and energetic, while the quieter pool provided a more calm and relaxing atmosphere. The food available near the quieter pool was delicious and served in generous portions.
The café also had a good selection of hot and cold food, drinks, and specialty items. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend Pop Century to families looking for a fun, convenient, and enjoyable Disney resort experience.
The air in the room would not cool right staying about 82. The food court workers were rude as we ordered 2 k8ds meal cheeseburgers, 1 adult cheeseburger. Took 33 minutes, then they didn't provide the sides with the kids meal had to wait another 4 minutes to get the sliced apples and apple juice. Wasn't just me having to wait. There were 6 of us and the girl was rude and jumped on another customer in front of everyone because he had one burger and fries that were cold while waiting on the kids chicken for 40 minutes. We counted 7 workers and none of them would acknowledge anyone waiting on food. Two families left their trays and went to a different counter and ordered a pizza. In the many years of coming to disney, this is the first trip out of 3 resorts that the cast members were not respectful. Disney is going down with the employees they hire. The one place on our trip we were treated so nice in a normal old fashioned disney way was our stay at Saratoga. Grand floridian was vern nice on the rooms and grounds, yet check in was horrible with cast member. And a manager noticed the attitude and gave the 3 year old some stickers and a disney pin and apologized
Disney's Pop Century Resort continues to prove why it's one of the best values at Walt Disney World. If you're traveling as a family, it's hard to beat the combination of fun theming, convenience, and affordability.
What really makes Pop Century stand out is the flexibility it offers. Whether you're planning a budget-conscious vacation or simply want to spend more of your money on experiences in the parks instead of your room, this resort strikes an excellent balance. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully updated, giving you everything you need without paying deluxe resort prices.
For families, the larger-than-life décor celebrating the '50s through the '90s creates a fun atmosphere that both kids and adults can enjoy. The pools, recreation areas, and food court provide plenty of options during downtime, and the Disney Skyliner is a huge advantage, making travel to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios fast, easy, and enjoyable.
If you're looking for a resort that delivers affordability without sacrificing the Disney magic, Pop Century is an outstanding choice. It gives families the flexibility to vacation the way they want, whether that's stretching the budget, taking advantage of Disney transportation, or simply having a comfortable home base after a long day in the parks. It's a resort I'd happily recommend to first-time visitors and seasoned Disney fans alike.

My stay at Disney's Pop Century Resort was overshadowed by a terrifying incident that I will never forget.
While at the resort pool, I heard a young boy cry out, "Please help me! I can't swim!" He was not wearing a life preserver, and before anyone responded, he disappeared beneath the water. I immediately went into the pool, grabbed him, and brought him to the shallow end where he was safe.
What shocked me most was that, from where I was standing, I did not see any of the lifeguards intervene before I reached him. With multiple lifeguards assigned to the pool, I expected someone to notice a child in distress much sooner.
The moment that stayed with me happened later when the boy's sister came up to me and asked, "Are you the nice man who saved my brother?" When I said yes, she thanked me. I told her to make sure her little brother always wears a life preserver if he can't swim. Her gratitude meant a great deal to me.
What disappointed me even more was that no member of the staff ever thanked me, checked on me, or even acknowledged what had happened. After experiencing something so frightening, I expected at least some recognition and reassurance that the incident would be taken seriously.
Disney is known for its high standards, especially when it comes to guest safety. Based on what I experienced, I left feeling deeply concerned about the level of supervision at the pool and disappointed by how the situation was handled.

Pop is by far our favorite place to stay! This trip was just my husband and myself, so there was plenty of space for us. We did use both the bed and the murphy bed in the room since they are full or queen size mattresses. Very comfortable, 6 pillows for the two of us to share. Location on Disney property is also a big selling point for us since we are heavy Skyliner users. We typically do not get on the Skyliner during peak hours so we never have a problem waiting in long lines. I do know from previous trips that getting on the Skyliner is a chore when parks open, so if your goal is to rope drop, the Skyliner can be a bust. For us though, we never rope drop, and we took our time getting to the parks, and never had a wait. We always request building 6 in the 70's section, and man it is amazing. We had a lake-side view this time, and it was WONDERFUL! Love waking up looking at the water. It's a nice quiet spot too, the only noise was from other guests staying in rooms close by, but that doesn't bother us. Truth be told, the one thing I was missing was our sound machine because the rooms are very quiet. I love the Everything Pop Shop, the food in the food court (Street corn fries, IYKYK). The price is right for this resort, and I will stay here again and again if I can. Even with my kids (3 and 8mo) i will stay here. We LOVE it!
