We had the character breakfast at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and it was such a fun and memorable experience! My cousin actually made it part of my early 50th birthday celebration, which made it even more special. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful. From the moment you walk in, you're completely immersed in the Polynesian theme. Disney really knows how to create an atmosphere, and every detail was stunning. The breakfast was excellent. Instead of a traditional buffet, everything is brought right to your table, and it's all you can eat. The food was fresh, plentiful, and delicious. The highlight for me was the sweet bread they served with a coconut glaze and pineapple—it was absolutely amazing! We also got adorable Mickey and Stitch waffles, plus a skillet loaded with eggs, breakfast potatoes, biscuits, ham with a pineapple topping, sausage, and more. They also brought fresh fruit and juice, and everything was fantastic. The potatoes and ham were especially delicious. The service was outstanding. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Of course, the best part was meeting Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch. They came around to every table, took pictures with everyone, and made the whole experience feel magical. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a unique Disney experience, I highly recommend this character breakfast. It was a wonderful memory and one of the highlights of our trip! ✨🌺

To be honest I needed more. We stayed at the Polynesian Island Tower in one of the 2bdrm suites. I expected a more "magical" experience. When we arrived we were told even though check-in was 4 it could be 4:30 it could be 5, they didn't know. When our room was ready we hauled about 13 suitcases across the entire resort because we didn't know what building we were in. The 90 minutes we waited in the big house lobby was chaotic and stressful. We could have spent that time casually moving to the lobby of the island tower which was much calmer. I was also frustrated that the rooms essentially just had basic cable. I kind of assumed that for $6,000 we'd have access to every Disney movie and TV show but we had to link our Disney+ accounts which wasn't that difficult but still, why not just include it? What if someone doesn't have Disney+? That theme is what frustrated us most across the entire trip. It seems like all the perks of a Disney vacation are gone and you have to pay for every single tiny thing, and believe me, you will PAY. Perks can go a long way in making the stay more enjoyable and magical. Wailulu was delicious and probably the best experience on the whole property, we ate there 3 times. My brother and sister-in-law took their kids to Kona the first night and said it was awful. By far the most expensive meal they had the whole stay and they left very disappointed. My last complaint kind of sums up my frustration with the park, the resort, and the perks. Our entire stay we only saw 2 characters out in the park. You would think for the amount of money people are paying for these vacations there would be characters all over the place but that just wasn't our experience and I had a very disappointed 5yo. Overall the resort was beautiful but for the amount of money we spent there just was nowhere near enough magic.

Most people writing these typically start with the positives but with a small amount of research it is obvious that the few positives are the location which includes the monorail and lastly the dining. The negatives, however , far outweigh the benefits of a shorter ride to MK. The biggest and most egregious issue is the noise level. We stayed club level 3rd floor and all day everyday all you hear in your room is the slamming of doors and loud tromping up and down the halls. It does not stop. Ever. So if you are the type of Disney goer that likes a mid day rest before dinner or going back to the park, I hope you aren’t a light sleeper. It truly is impossible for even a 15 minute stretch of not hearing a door slam and we pack a white noise machine when we travel and it could not even stifle it. Next is the bathroom size and shower. There is zero room for your items in the bathrooms and our room in particular didn’t have a fully functioning shower and the wall paper was peeling in the shower itself. All this to say when you are paying a premium price you at minimum expect and peaceful night sleep and a decent shower. The staff we very lovely and accommodating and honestly tried their best but the entire vibe of this resort is chaos and we definitely won’t be returning. We come to Disney almost every year and we wanted to try a new resort and it did not meet our expectations. We’ll be sticking with our usual French Quarter from here on out.

We stayed club level at Polynesian in the Hawaii building. We arrived early and got checked in and waited for our room. After several hours of waiting in the lounge we were told my a worker Lauren if my 5 year old didn't have shoes on he couldn't come back in lounge mind you he only got out of his wagon one time im 3-4 hours. I explained to her he was special needs and we weren't just being rule breakers there was no compassion or anything helpful offered. So the remainder of the trip he never entered the lounge again because we weren't comfortable so what a way to start off a trip. The concierge couldn't help us with info about a stroller wagon pass for special needs because they said they never heard of one but the main lobby told us all about. I find it funny we got more help out of the main lobby than the concierge desk and you pay more for concierge. My family was not greeted with lais we had to go back in main lobby and ask. While this wasn't my first time here it was for some of my family. Upon the rest of the week you had people in dripping wet swimsuits and half dressed leaning over the food in the lounge and barefoot and nothing was said to them. I felt discriminated against because my child was treated unfairly. I want there to be more education given to employees on special needs children especially autistic children. This was heartbreaking that we felt shamed and were unable to take him back in the lounge, mainly because we were excited he could watch fireworks for the first and not be scared but that experience was taken as well.

Our recent stay at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows was a mix of outstanding Cast Member service and disappointing room conditions. Upon check-in, our original room had multiple issues, including cleanliness concerns, dirty sheets, hair in the restroom, rusted shower hardware, and other maintenance problems. After being moved to a second room, we encountered additional concerns, including a balcony door that would not properly close, cleanliness issues, and constant noise from the Transportation and Ticket Center that could be heard throughout the day and night. What keeps this review from being significantly lower were two exceptional housekeeping managers: Sasha and Santa. When we reported our concerns, Sasha responded immediately. She listened, took ownership of the situation, and worked hard to find solutions. Her professionalism, responsiveness, and genuine care stood out. The following day, Santa continued helping us after we shared concerns about not getting a good night’s sleep. To make matters more challenging, my daughter became ill during the trip. Santa went above and beyond by helping coordinate a later departure from Polynesian, communicating with Beach Club to help secure a room as early as possible, and arranging for personal items we accidentally left behind to be delivered to our next resort. Both managers demonstrated the level of service that Disney is known for. The reason for the 4-star rating is that these issues should not have existed in the first place. During this vacation we stayed at multiple Disney resorts, and unfortunately room-condition issues were becoming a recurring theme. While the Polynesian team worked hard to address our concerns, it felt like Sasha and Santa were spending their time recovering from problems that should have been addressed before guests arrived. The Cast Members we worked with were outstanding. However, Disney needs to take a closer look at housekeeping quality control and room readiness standards. Guests paying Deluxe Resort and Disney Vacation Club rates should not be encountering these types of issues at check-in. Thank you again to Sasha and Santa for turning a frustrating situation into a much better experience.
