  This is our home resort for DVC, love the rooms and the quiet golf course views. Disney has changed much over the years about reservations and moved to a central booking policy. We originally had our own agent that we booked with, that knew our preferences. Then they went to online and all agents were great about recording and honoring our choices. This trip, our family of 22 was spread across 5 different buildings all because their system changed and we weren't informed ahead of time that we should check in at the desk vs online as they prompt you to do. Computers are making it harder for our large family to enjoy these trips TOGETHER. We recognize that it is a unique circumstance, but we've done it for 25 years with no problems. Disney, of all places, should make it easier for family.

  My family and I stayed at Disney old key west. We have stayed there many times before and are always satisfied with the service and the rooms. Only downside this time was we didn’t get into our one room until after 4:00 and the weather was bad and we didn’t really have any where to go. Other then that the trip was great we loved the quiet of being in the back there was less kids and the pool near us was always quiet. My family has always had a love for Disney and we love the homie vibe and how welcoming the staff are. Disney always allows us to step away from reality for a while and just forget about everything else going on in life from work to personal struggles. Just wish it could have been a longer trip. Felt too short.

  Location is within the Disney bubble which is great. Resort is very spread out so if you are not in a rental car I probably wouldn’t choose this resort, despite Disney transportation. Disney bus takes forever to get anywhere on or off property. The resort its self is pretty quiet. Pool is decent. Be mindful there are snakes around this resort. We woke up to one on our balcony which scared the heck out of my young daughter. We contacted front desk and they said they would send someone out from their pest control. The rooms seem dated but are comfortable. You have a washer and dryer and a jacuzzi tub which was great. Goods food is next to the pool but service here was terrible all 3 times we ordered food from here. Service was insanely slow and we even had one guy working there who was far from friendly. We inquired about an eta for our small food to go order and his response was “I don’t know” and walked away with an attitude. We then had a woman from the restaurant ask us if we were waiting on a Togo order and when I replied yes, she asked our order number and went behind the counter and asked the same gentleman about our order status. He then gave her an attitude and said he already told us he didn’t know and then he stormed off! It was very unprofessional of this cast member. Would I stay here again… maybe if the price was right.

  Room we thought was cleaned. As soon as we arrived I had to use the restroom.. did bother to think of anything but when I was finished and I went to flush there was FECES…yes POOP on the seat and I sat in it. That is a bio health hazard because you don’t know what the other who sat that has. As I went to call front desk my son ran in and sat in the seat. I had him quickly get off. The room cleaner came in and saw that there was feces under the seat top as well which means the cleaning crew DID NOT CLEAN SANITIZE THE BATHROOM TOILETS. That is absolutely disgusting. The other issue we ran into was getting bit up by mosquitoes in the room. All windows were closed and front door stayed closed and patio door as well but some we were getting big mosquitoes in the room. Kid got bit badly on their legs and arms. I don’t know how this could have been possible. We had a very rough time staying there due to this. We also went to wash cloths in the washer that is in the room as well and there was no detergent. Called front desk and they were confused on why there wasn’t any in the room. They stated the room comes with it. Had our cloths sitting in washer water for close to 20 minutes before they delivered the detergent. We cooked dinner in the oven and when it was done.. we had to use 2 sweat shirts to pull the casserole dish out of the oven because they didn’t have oven mitts or anything to grab things out of the oven with. Tv controller was sticky and gross. We had to leave and go to the supermarket and buy cleaning products to clean and we bought oven mitts as well due to using the oven again the next night. The room is incredibly nice and I wish it was kept up properly. Would I try to go back there again.. probably not due to the up keep of the room.

  Unser Aufenthalt im Disney’s Old Key West Resort war insgesamt wirklich sehr gelungen – ich würde solide 4,5 von 5 Sternen vergeben. Die Anlage ist wunderschön gestaltet und vermittelt echtes Florida-Feeling mit viel Ruhe, Palmen und großzügigen Grünflächen. Besonders gefallen haben uns die weitläufigen Wege und die entspannte Atmosphäre, die einen angenehmen Kontrast zum oft hektischen Treiben in den Parks bietet. Die Zimmer bzw. Villen sind sehr geräumig, sauber und gut ausgestattet – ideal auch für längere Aufenthalte oder Familien. Der Service war durchweg freundlich und hilfsbereit, wie man es von Disney gewohnt ist. Auch der Transport zu den Parks (Bus und Boot nach Disney Springs) hat zuverlässig funktioniert, auch wenn man hier manchmal etwas Geduld mitbringen muss. Ein kleiner Punktabzug geht an die teilweise etwas in die Jahre gekommene Einrichtung – alles ist gepflegt, aber nicht mehr ganz auf dem neuesten Stand. Außerdem sind die Wege innerhalb des Resorts recht groß, was je nach Lage des Zimmers etwas unpraktisch sein kann. Alles in allem aber ein tolles Resort für alle, die es etwas ruhiger und entspannter mögen, ohne auf den Disney-Zauber zu verzichten. Wir würden definitiv wiederkommen!
