I was more than pleased with AOA for our first family trip to Disney. It's well managed and taken care of. You can tell they are constantly making improvements and upgrades to maintain the Disney quality. The only downside was the button for the doors to automatically open in one of the Cars buildings wasn't working. And there were a few unscheduled pool maintenance issues (aka a kid pooped in the pool) that required everyone to get out. In my opinion kids need to wear a swim diaper and a tighter fitting Happy Nappy like many swim schools require. Otherwise, we absolutely loved our room - the Cars theme is spectacular. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The location can't be beat. And the food is good, especially for a value resort. We never had to wait long for a bus. The Skyliner is awesome. All in all AOA can't be beat and our kids absolutely loved it. We would absolutely return for future trips.

We had a reservation for a little mermaid standard room, but when we got there we received a magical upgrade to the lion king suite. We were in building 10 on the first floor not too far from the main building. Getting that upgrade was amazing for the extra room. We had three adults and I rented a scooter so having the bigger room to charge the scooter in was amazing. We were only there for 3 nights but they came on the third day to clean and give us new towels. The only real complaint I have was with the dining area. It was always so busy, which I know they can't control, but every time we ordered something it was cold by the time we sat down. The food was ok. I highly recommend the pizza for the price alone. Never by individual pieces its cheaper to just get the whole pie and share. Also the cheeseburgers were pretty good. Overall, the experience was very positive. While we had a good time we preferred Pop century and probably wouldn't come back unless we have small children.

This was roughly our 10th trip to Disney over the course of 35 years. Our older daughter was 3 when we first took her and was 38, with two kids of her own, this time. So we're Disney-goers but not "Disney People." Grandkids were 5, 3, and 2 at the time of our visit. This was our first stay in a value resort and it worked out very well for us. We got three family suites--one for my wife and I and one for each of our daughters and their families. They were adjacent. The rooms are fairly basic, but the Murphy bed is very comfortable as a second bed. Microwave and fridge are included, but maybe bring a cup or dish because nothing that really goes in the microwave is provided. You might think you'd get that stuff from the food court, but not really. The food court, Landscape of Flavors, was pretty good. The one at Caribbean Beach, one stop away on the Skyliner, was even better. These are both pretty fair value by Disney standards. We saw a lot of people with takeout pizza. The pools and the theming at this hotel are TREMENDOUS. I'm not sure anything made our 5 year old grandson happier than Radiator Springs in the Cars section of the resort. The Big Blue pool in the Nemo section was great, as was the Lion King playground area in our section. I didn't really see the Little Mermaid, but I feel certain it's also great. Our grandkids felt "immersed" in a way that an off-site property just could not provide. And now the Skyliner. I had NO IDEA what a benefit this was going to be. Our grandkids loved it. Loved it. Easy transfer at Caribbean Beach to Epcot or Hollywood Studios. Never a line except at 7:30-8:30am when people head out to parks. Just fantastic. We only took the bus on Magic Kingdom day because the bus goes to the front door, but all other transport goes to the transportation center. We actually drove to Animal Kingdom, but that ride is very short on the bus too. Overall, very high marks. It's not cheap, but you knew that already. And it was nowhere near full. Probably less pleasant when it is, as most things are.

We purchased 7 nights at Art of Animation for the Cars building, in handicap accessible room. We took our daughter, son-in-law, and 2 grandchildren with us. The grandchildren (4,2) were so excited about staying in a car's room (favorite movie). We got to stay 1 night in the room. Because the next morning I tried to enter the restroom, (I have a cath) and I'm in my wheelchair permanently and could not enter the restroom for it was not handicap accessible. I called the front desk to ask them if it was a handicap room. The front desk said "no" do you need a handicap room. I let them know that, that is what I originally booked and that I'm in a wheelchair. They informed me that they didn't have an accessible room for any of the cars building at the time. However they had one available at the lion king building. I let them know that I would've had never booked this resort for the cost (500 a night) to stay in the Lion King building my grands don't even know what lion king is. But driving home (8hrs) and missing out on Disney was not an option either we had already spent 7000 dollars for this vacay with just the room, tickets and dining plan. So we repacked up and went to the Lion King building. The building were our room was, had no handicap parking close to our room, which was the 1st of our problems. We get to the room and its still dirty. It has food and sugar crumbs all over the counters and microwave. The fridge had something spilled in it. It just wasn't that magical experience Im used to with Disney. We go regularly and this has not been an issue before until this resort.

We did not have a positive experience with our stay at Art of Animation. Our travel agent put in the reservation notes that we requested a full size crib. Upon check-in, we confirmed that we needed a crib and not a pack and play. We emphasized that it needed to be a full sized crib as our son is 41" tall and cannot fit in a travel crib or pack and play. We were told they would be bringing one to our room. We waited and no one came so we called housekeeping and they brought one up but it was a small travel crib. We called again and requested a FULL size crib. They told us they would bring one up and they never did. This repeated 2 more times. Finally, I called again and someone in housekeeping said they were waiting on one to be available and would bring up a full crib and bumpers while we were out of the room. We got back at 930pm and there was still nothing brought to our room. At this point, our son had now slept in a cramped crib for a night and was uncomfortable. My husband called and spoke to 2 different people who gave 2 different answers that they never actually put the request in and that they would bring one the next morning. When they brought the "new crib" it was the same size travel crib as what we currently had. I then went down and spoke to a hotel receptionist, and he apologized but spoke to someone in housekeeping directly who said they actually DON'T have FULL size (58" long cribs). So our son had to sleep in either a too-small crib or in the full size bed with bumpers (he had never done this before, he still sleeps in a full crib at home by his preference) for the first time, in an unfamiliar environment. Had we known this, we would have rented a third-party crib but instead we had to deal with this stress and miscommunication for 2 days of our stay. We did not feel like anyone cared about this negatively affecting our son and our stay. We will not stay at this resort again and will make sure to warn others before they book a reservation here as well. Very disappointing.
