  The location was great for us to catch our cruise ship. The place looked nice but lack of maintenance and bad decisions make staying here possibly not your best choice. The bathroom exhaust did not work so after taking a shower you get to stew in the steam and humidity all night. So much for clean air ventilation. The ac did work well so you could over cool the room to compensate enough to sleep. The room was decorated with a wall mount coat rack seat that looked like it was purchased from Dollar General and was fastened to the drywall with 2 plastic anchors. When a 10 year old sits on it and it falls off the wall o. Him its apparent the management doesn't think about kids safety.

  Great customer service. Rooms were very clean, beds were comfortable, and close proximity to the interstate. Overall, a good mini vacation spot.

  All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was always tasty and warm plus and ready on time. I travel around for work and always prefer to stay at this HIE and other HIE properties but this one in particular is my favorite.

  Do not book this hotel. Shortly after getting into bed, I started itching and decided to inspect the room more closely. I found multiple reddish-brown stains on the bedding and mattress, along with debris that appeared dirty and unsanitary. The overall condition of the bed made me uncomfortable enough that I no longer felt safe sleeping there. I contacted the front desk and requested a room change, but was told that all rooms used the same linens. I then contacted Booking.com for assistance. When Booking.com spoke with the hotel, they were told that I had been offered two alternative rooms, which was not true. Because of the cleanliness concerns and my reaction after getting into the bed, I requested a refund. The hotel refused. This was a stressful and disappointing way to start my trip. Based on my experience, I would not stay at this property again.

  I usually don’t write hotel reviews unless a place is either so bad it deserves a documentary… or so good it makes me question my actual home. 😂 This time around, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Jacksonville Blount Island absolutely delivered. From the second I walked in, the presentation and customer service were flawless. The lobby was clean, the staff was friendly, and nobody looked at me like I was inconveniencing them by existing. That alone deserves applause these days. 👏 Now let’s talk about my hotel pet peeves because I am VERY particular: I hate when hotels give you: * One sad little towel that feels like you’re drying yourself with a tortilla. * Shampoo bottles with enough product for exactly half your head. * Half-used toilet paper rolls hanging on for dear life. * Beds so stiff you wake up feeling like you lost a fight with a parking lot. * TVs so small you need binoculars from the bed. THIS HOTEL CAME PREPARED FOR PEOPLE LIKE ME. 😂 I walk into the room and immediately notice: Two full towel sets hanging perfectly small towel, medium towel, big towel TIMES TWO. Then I open the cubby… BOOM. Backup towels sitting there like the hotel knew I overreact emotionally after showers. Bathroom? Fully stocked. Not one not two but FOUR toilet paper rolls total. My anxiety immediately disappeared. 😭 The soap, shampoo, and body wash situation? Beautiful. No tiny empty bottles looking like somebody else already survived off them before me. Now let’s discuss the bed… Listen carefully: That mattress and comforter were so comfortable I seriously considered extending my stay and becoming a permanent resident of Jacksonville. I melted into that bed like butter on hot toast. And then… THE TV. A glorious 50-inch screen staring me directly in the soul saying: “You’re not going anywhere tomorrow.” Well guess what? I WAS LATE FOR WORK. 😂 I woke up wrapped like a burrito in that comforter watching TV thinking: Do I REALLY need employment? Then came breakfast downstairs… A full buffet-style breakfast that basically ended any motivation I had left. I was sitting there eating breakfast wondering if I should just call my boss and say: Listen… life has changed for me. If you’re visiting Jacksonville, especially around the Blount Island area, do yourself a favor and book this hotel. Clean rooms. Amazing staff. Comfortable beds. Big TV. Fully stocked bathroom supplies. And enough towels to survive a natural disaster. 10/10 highly recommend. Would absolutely risk being late to work again.
