  What started out horrible situation was turned around for the best 'Thanks' to Antonique (Front Desk) and Mrs. Karen (GM). I will be returning here; Thanks ladies for your 'Professionalism' and 'Great Customer Service'!!

  Due to a family emergency, my husband and I traveled from Alexandria, VA to Jacksonville, FL mid-September; we were there for over 2 weeks. Initially we stayed at the Marriott Townplace Suites Airport for 3 nights but the staff and service was so awful, we decided to move to another hotel. Upon checking in at the Holiday Inn & Suites JAX Airport, to our surprise, the management and staff were very accommodating and extremely pleasant! We immediately knew we were at the right place. Although this hotel is an older property, it felt very upscale and modern because it is well-maintained, super clean and everyone who worked there, including hotel maintenance, went out of their way to ensure customer needs were met. The rooms are nice, the house-keeping staff was always on top of their game and the free breakfast is really good. They even have great coffee!! I would like to give a huge THANK YOU to the General Manager, Ms. Kaeren Benjamin, for running such a tight ship! Her leadership, knowledge and professional demeanor spills over from the staff, straight to the guests. She is so involved with every aspect of operations, you would never know she was the BOSS if you didn't ask. On a daily basis, I saw her all over the hotel--from the laundry room to the top floor--making sure everything was good. Mrs. Benjamin is a total asset to the IHG brand. It is easy to see why she has such a great staff! Your company is extremely lucky to have her. I will definitely stay at this IHG location every time I visit the Jacksonville area.

  Terrible front counter people, had a reservation for a specific room and price and was told they were sold out when got there. Then proceeded to tell me, oh we do have rooms for double the amount! Needless to say we went down the road.

  Unfortunately, this was one of the worst nights we’ve had in a hotel. We barely slept. The mattress was extremely soft and uncomfortable, and the air conditioner was loud so that it made getting a good night’s sleep nearly impossible. The room itself also needs improvement. The bed layout is ridiculous we literally had to squeeze past the window air-conditioning unit just to get to the other side of the bed. The light by the door didn’t work either. These may seem like small things individually, but together they made the room uncomfortable and frustrating. Breakfast was just as disappointing. We came down at 7:45 a.m., well within breakfast hours, expecting the advertised hot continental breakfast. There was NO hot food available — everything was completely empty. We told the staff at the fro t desk and they didn’t seem to care at all. We had to stand around and wait for more food to be brought out. At that time of the morning, the breakfast area should have been stocked and ready for guests. When you’re traveling, you expect a clean, comfortable room where you can get a good night’s sleep and a breakfast that is available during the advertised hours. Unfortunately, this stay fell short on both. When we checked out both front desk employees where on their phones and we had to get there attention. This Holiday Inn Express definitely needs some attention and improvement. Based on our experience, we will not be staying at this location again.
