To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my recent stay at your property. The conditions of the hotel ok were completely unacceptable, unsanitary, and raised serious safety concerns.
The room and common areas were extremely dirty and poorly maintained. In addition, the condition of the doors and security measures made me feel unsafe during my stay. Certain doors appeared damaged and unsecured, creating a serious concern for guest safety and overall property management.
These conditions do not reflect the standards expected from a Holiday Inn/IHG property. I am highly disappointed with the lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and attention to guest safety.
I have photos and documentation of the conditions encountered during my stay and I am prepared to escalate this matter to corporate management, public health authorities, and consumer review platforms if necessary.
I respectfully request that this matter be investigated immediately and that appropriate action be taken regarding this property and my experience as a guest.
I look forward to your prompt response.
Sincerely,
FKY

DO NOT STAY HERE THEY WILL RIP OFF. Everyone working the front desk is a crook. They double charged my room 208.00 and are refusing to send a refund even though AMEX has told them it was a double charge.. Now I have to wait 3-4 weeks for AMEX to refund the money. Its a nice property and great location but I am sticking to Holiday Inn Express. Oh and this place charges 12$ for the same breakfast you get for FREE at any Holiday In Express. Great location but not worth getting ripped off.

There is absolutely nothing positive I can say about this hotel.
My room was dirty. There were large stains on the wall that looked like blood, feces, or other brown/red bodily residue.
On the second day, the air conditioning stopped working and about one third of the carpet in my room was completely soaked. I asked for it to be repaired. A maintenance technician came, said “wait,” and left again. Nothing happened afterwards. The next day, I brought up the issue again, but nobody seemed to know anything about it. I asked to be moved to another room, which was promised to me. In the evening, I was told I could not move because the next employee on shift knew nothing about it. The exact same thing happened again the following day. At some point, the carpet dried, but the humidity in the room remained extremely high. Eventually, I simply gave up.
Also on the second day, there was no hot water for showering, and the refrigerator stopped working as well.
The breakfast is extremely basic.
The hotel charges between 5 and 20 USD per package for accepting deliveries. I have honestly never experienced anything like that before.
The parking area in front of the hotel feels more like a gathering spot for drug activity in the evenings.
This is not entirely the hotel’s fault, but the noise level is unbearable. Either from a) the hotel’s own air conditioning system, b) the rooftop cooling units when opening the window, or c) the highway directly next to the hotel.
As a business traveler, I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel. Not for a week, not even for a single night.
Unfortunately, I only documented the stains on the wall. The musty smell, the noise, and the other issues simply could not be captured properly in photos.

Shame on this hotel for not keeping their word about my refund!
JORDI, whom I believe is a manager, swiped 3 of my credit cards due to a system issue on their end. This resulted in duplicate charges and FX fees.
1 of 3 charges posted during my stay, so I asked them to also reimburse me for the FX charge (they did). ASHLEY assured me that once the other 2 charges get posted to send them an email and I would be refunded for the other two FX charges)
IAN, who I believe is also a manager, reassured me that they check their email everyday (they didn’t reply to my email until I escalated it to IHG)
Despite following their instructions and providing proof, the hotel has refused to reimburse the FX charges caused by their own error. It’s only 20 CAD…
If the hotel promises you anything make sure that promise is conveyed via email so you have written proof.
EDIT: adding this after they replied to my review. This hotel knows who I am, has my phone number and email, and they haven’t contacted me. They simply provide a corporate response with no intention to change. PLEASE GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING ‼️

My stay at Holiday Inn Miami West –Airport Area was unfortunately very disappointing, especially as a loyal IHG member who has consistently had great experiences with this brand in the past.
I specifically chose this property based on my trust in IHG hotels, but from the moment I arrived, there were issues. The check-in staff was not attentive, lacked a proper greeting, and overlooked me while I was trying to check in and ask questions. I was not provided with any information about amenities or helpful local tips something I’ve come to expect and appreciate from other IHG locations.
Once I got to my room, the situation became even more concerning. The carpet was visibly dirty, and the room had a strong, unpleasant odor that made me worry about possible mold. The bathroom also did not appear to be properly cleaned.
More importantly, there were serious safety concerns. My room door did not fully close or lock properly, and even the security bar would not have provided protection. There was an adjoining room door that could be pushed open from the other side, compromising both my safety and my belongings. Additionally, the balcony door did not close or lock correctly, and you could hear wind coming through it. I documented these issues on video.
I contacted the front desk and requested a manager. A female manager did come up, listened to my concerns, and acknowledged the seriousness of the situation especially considering we were two women traveling alone. She attempted to find another room, but housekeeping informed her that the alternative room was uninhabitable due to odor and possible mold as well.
At that point, I made the decision to leave and find other accommodations, which cost me additional time and money, but my safety was the top priority. I was issued a refund of $208; however, I later noticed an unexpected $50 charge on my card a couple of days after leaving, which I was not informed about.
Overall, this property did not meet basic cleanliness or safety standards. The environment also felt uneasy, with a lot of unusual activity both inside and outside the hotel. It gave more of an extended-stay feel, which isn’t necessarily a problem but in this case, it contributed to a very uncomfortable experience.
I’ve since contacted customer service to report my experience. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this property to anyone, as I do not feel it is currently suitable for guests.
