  Underwhelmed is an understatement. Check-in was a drawn out pain and we finally finished we were given no directions on the parking garage or how to find our room. It was very complicated and confusing. We were also not told there were no luggage carts in the parking garage and we needed a bellman to get one. Thankfully a security guard was walking by and she called a bellman for us, without them both we were completely lost and confused. The front staff was no help. We also realized in the room we weren’t given towel cards and tried calling the front desk to have them brought up and they said they couldn’t and we would have to come down to get them. The rooms were nice, but very dirty. We had to wear shoes in the room. After the first night my children’s feet were black from running around in the condo. They also refused to provide any extra coffee, laundry or dish packs and there were 6 of us there for a week. We were given a room that faced the road and was so noisy being directly over the ac units, which I guess didn’t matter because we also had a note telling us not to use our balcony for our safety. There was nothing peaceful about this place. So if that’s the beach vacation you’re going for, book somewhere else. The pool was freezing cold even though we were told it was heated and for the first half of our week, the hot tub was drained. Then the last day (2 days before Isaias was to make landfall) we spoke with a staff member to ensure the beach shuttle boat would still be on schedule and were told it was running normal schedule all day. We decided to go to the pool first then have lunch and end our trip with an afternoon at the beach. We got to the shuttle just before 2 to be told it was already closed and they were only bringing guests back from the beach. This is not a place we plan to return to.

  I booked a Vacation at Emerald Grand And purchased travel insurance from Emerald Grand as they are nonrefundable. There became a named storm in the golf headed right for Destin Florida. I called the hotel to try to cancel my travel and they told me it was 100% nonrefundable and I should call my travel insurance provider that they sold me. I called my travel insurance provider and they denied my claim also saying that there was not a mandatory evacuation as of yet and I cannot have my money back. I did not buy insurance in case of storm. I bought insurance to cancel anytime and that’s what I was sold also. This property At this moment is not Standing behind promises made, and are attempting to put their customers in harms way

  WARNING: DO NOT STAY AT EMERALD GRANDE in Destin, Florida if you are uncertain about weather, changes in your plans, etc…. I booked a two-night stay in a 2-bedroom condo for $1,200 total. Due to terrible weather and not being able to go out on our charter fishing trip the trip was cancelled. When I contacted Emerald Grande for a refund or a partial refund, they refused. They hide behind their cancellation policies, said that I should have taken insurance, or suggested applying it to another visit this year which is impossible. THIS IS BAD BUSINESS, BAD POLICY, AND SIMPLY NOT CARING ABOUT UNIQUE CIRCUMSTANCES. You are better off booking a hotel or another condominium complex that has better cancellation policies.

  We have been Wyndham owners for many years and have stayed at this location before, but unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the decline in both service and overall quality. When we arrived, we were assigned a unit with spiral stairs and only one bed in the second bedroom. As a family with four young children, we always request a unit with two beds, and we were concerned about the safety of having our little ones use the spiral staircase. I asked if we could switch to a different unit, but I was immediately told there were no other options without anyone even checking. I then asked whether a pack-and-play was available so we could make the sleeping arrangements work. I was told that I would have needed to rent one in advance through a third-party company. This was extremely frustrating and not something we have ever experienced at a Wyndham property. We ultimately had to drive to Walmart and purchase an air mattress ourselves. Even getting an extra blanket became an unnecessary hassle. Unfortunately, the condition of the unit was just as disappointing. The floors were visibly dirty, with random black hairs and sticky substances throughout. The showers had mold, and multiple surfaces—including the refrigerator and dishwasher doors—were sticky and appeared not to have been properly cleaned. We understand that things can happen, but the overall experience left us feeling like an inconvenience rather than valued paying guests. A little kindness, effort, and willingness to help would have gone a long way toward making this experience better. After being loyal Wyndham owners for years, this was especially disappointing. We will not be staying at this location again, and we will definitely be contacting Wyndham to share our experience and concerns.

  Would not recommend! Asked for a room with waterfront view This is what we received(see photos) When I entered the room I immediately called the front desk and asked politely to be moved.. staff said "they were full with three weddings and a festival but they would research". They found my conversation which stated gulf front... They apologized but said there was nothing they could do. Three days with this view on the beautiful Emerald coast. Very disappointing. But it does not stop there. The hotel is old and smells. This area I am in was recently acquired and had sheet rock plaster coming off walls and ceilings in the hall and a loud drying fan in the halls all three days This is one of there hotel room and they do not have any daily housekeeping This was not listed or explained anywhere at check in. We had 2 towels two washcloths and 2 hand towels for a three night stay !!! I called front desk on the second day and was told if you request at 9am they will bring something later in the day I do not recommend to ever stay in the HS area of the hotel... most of the elevators took you to an underground parking garage to get to your are of the hotel. It was scary dark and dirty I would have upgraded to anything but they said nothing was available My room was clean but there definitely was road noise from 98. Staff was not friendly or helpful, the answer to everything was there is a seafood festival this weekend. No customer service I do not recommend The Emerald Grand, nothing Grand about it
