  The toilet in our room has the wrong size lid so it makes it hard to sit on. The pancakes don’t get cooked all the way. The bacon is almost burnt and the automatic coffee the one on the left won’t fill your cup all the way. You know for paying 181.00 for one night you would expect everything to be immaculate so I was dissatisfied to say the least. If you want to stay here just keep going down the road!

  The only reason I gave it a total of 2 stars is because of the staff. We stopped here on our way to Panama to visit with family in Vernon. First room we checked into, the sheets on one bed had blood on them, it was like they hadn't even changed the bedding. Both the fitted and flat sheet had the blood in the same area. When we called the desk, they were very accommodating and changed our room. However, when we checked the beds in the new room, the pillow cases were covered in black and brown, as if someone climbed into bed dirty. There were only 2 pillows per bed that looked clean. It was already so late in the night, we had no choice but to stay. The Holiday Inn express hotels are our preferred choice hotels when traveling. It was very disappointing, especially when we've never had issues with previous locations.

  We booked our room about an hour before we arrived. Roo was clean and ready. We needed more bedding, staff quickly took care of our request. Breakfast was standard. The lady working was very friendly and was refilling food items quickly.

  If I could have driven more, I would not have stopped. Asked staff about smoking right outside front door, said couldn't do anything, BS, Smoking area 50 feet away. Management replied to online feedback, no points given to disabled veteran who pointed out safety issues. There is more, but Management needs to address.

  Overall, our stay was great. The hotel itself was very clean, and the breakfast was excellent. We also had a positive experience with the morning receptionist, who was friendly and welcoming. However, our check-in experience was disappointing. When I arrived, I clearly explained the type of room I needed and confirmed availability. I asked if the hotel could match a lower rate I found on Expedia, which was about $40 cheaper since other Holiday Inns have done this. The receptionist declined, so I stepped aside to book it online. Unfortunately, by the time I tried to complete the reservation, the room was no longer available. When I asked if it had been booked, the receptionist responded in a rude and dismissive manner stating it was still available, which made the situation more frustrating because I felt she did something so we would have the more expensive rate. If we hadn’t been so exhausted from traveling, we likely would have gone to another hotel, but we decided to stay. Despite the unpleasant check-in interaction, the cleanliness of the hotel, good breakfast, and the kindness of the morning staff helped improve our overall experience.
