  Update: The only response I received was a canned response with no concern at all. DO NOT STAY HERE! I suggest a new name for this place: SureStay Plus Cockroach Motel by Pest Western. I expect some level of deterioration when staying at an older budget motel/hotel, but what I don't expect or appreciate is the abundance of unpaid guests (cockroaches of many sizes) occupying my space. Furthermore, the breakfast is not the same as advertised or on a display at check in. There was only some microwaved biscuit sandwiches, two kinds of cereal, bread for toast and yogurt. The last time I stayed here (Sept. 2023) it was not like this. It is sad to see the decline and the infestation. I will not be staying here again and will be warning friends and family members who frequently travel to the Wilmington area to stay away.

  This is the worse hotel I have ever stayed in, after being in several hundred during the past 15 years. Dirty. Roaches. Handed us a bottle of bedbug spray to kill them. Door didn't close properly. Toilet didn't work properly. Front desk clerk was pleasant but not authorized to do anything, but finally moved us to second floor room, no elevator. No place to sit at breakfast. Food terrible. Spoke to manager by phone a few days later and then ghosted by him. Pictures on line are not what the place looks like pool is curvy on line, but rectangular in pictures and only has a green scum of water in the bottom along with lots of debris . Dirty in parking lot. I had to call best Western to get refunded for the room. This place should be closed by the board of health and then torn down. Not a good look for best Western.

  I would not stay here again...room was not very clean, cockroaches came out as soon as lights were off...I had a few on me and many were crawling on the TV stand/refrigerator enclosure. I think BW should evaluate its brand association. Heavy smell of Marijuana around the property

  Do not travel here. Lack of running water and if you pay for multiple days they reserve the right not to refund you.

  2/5 We stayed in a double room with a microwave and fridge, and the condition of the room was honestly very poor. As soon as we walked in, it smelled strongly like cigarettes. One of the beds was caving in and didn’t feel stable to sleep on. There were also used underwear and socks left on top of the closet, which is unacceptable and shows the room wasn’t properly cleaned. The bathroom had multiple issues, there was a leak, and the toilet seat was broken off. Maintenance clearly hasn’t been kept up. The microwave was a serious concern. When we tried to use it, the inside sparked and caught fire with a metal-like reaction, even though nothing was inside that should’ve caused it. The key cards were also difficult to use and it took multiple tries just to unlock the door. Overall, this is one of the dirtiest and poorest-condition hotels I’ve stayed in.
