  We had such a great stay at Hotel Bethany. It’s dog friendly, which made the trip so much easier, and they were really accommodating from the moment we arrived. Everyone there is genuinely so sweet and welcoming, which makes a big difference. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and exactly what we needed to relax after a long day out. Breakfast being included was also a huge plus and made mornings super easy. The location is perfect too. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the boardwalk, so you’re close to everything. Overall, such a solid stay and we’d definitely come back.

  From the first to the last, this hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff was courteous and hospitable, the room was clean, good sized and well-stocked. The hotel is dog-friendly, and every member of the staff we encountered seemed to truly love that aspect of their job, sharing the hotel with the four-legged guests. Breakfast was “the usual fare” and my one and only minor complaint was the access to trash cans in the dining area. No designated spot for trash at the hot beverage station, and only one trash can, in a slightly inconvenient corner. Everything else was really great! Well-lit parking, close to the beach and the boardwalk, discount at the crab shack next door, free round of putt-putt, secured doors around the building. A true 10 out of 10! Special shoutout to Ariel, the manager. I saw her work long hours and treat every single guest with kindness and patience. She is worth her own “gold star”.

  Overall it was a decent stay location was great and the drive-in was very pretty bedrooms were standard the first room which we booked for a king bed one we arrived they said we were upgraded to a room that now had two queen beds which we did not want also it smelled horribly like someone was cooking in it and left fish in the sink but they did move us to another room which was much better however when we woke up next morning there was a spider crawling on the bed. It is close to the beach but it is an inconvenient walk to get to it an access point. The area did seem to be very safe and clean around the hotel, breakfast was pretty good for standard continental breakfast.

  I have been a loyal guest at this hotel, always reserving my stays directly. While Bethany Beach city offers free parking in the off-season, the hotel still charges $10 per night, down from $25 in peak times. Extending even a single complimentary night of parking would have shown appreciation for returning guests. My concern, of course, is less about the cost and much more about the principle. Next time, I may explore booking at the neighboring Colony Apartment complex. I have to highlight the genuine warmth and expertise of the three amazing women at the hotel front desk: Ariel, Jennifer, and Janis. Their bright personalities and professionalism turned every encounter into a delight. I hope my parking fee can at least go toward recognizing their exceptional service.

  Hotel doesn't disclose a $10 parking fee at check in or on their website. They also don't disclose a $75, non refundable pet fee at check-in or on their website. I already checked in, took bags and my dog to my room. As we were leaving for dinner the desk clerk stopped me, requesting that I fill out a pet form. She didn't bother mentioning a $75 pet fee. We were asking her for dinner recommendations - I wasn't reading the terms listed on the form. Shame on me, I wasnt worrying about being scammed. I was hurridly only filling out the blanks, so we could get on our way. I saw the $75 charge on my charge card summary today. It is shown as a separate charge, not mentioning any sort of pet fee or deposit. I contacted the hotel and was basically told, too bad for me. Loved the hotel, beautiful room, but due to the way this was handled I would never recommend anyone stay there. I certainly won't!
