  We've stayed at the Line several times in the past and loved it. But we really noticed the decline this time around. Not what it used to be. Rooms not serviced regularly (missed us the last two days and had to go ask at the front desk), deterioration in the building not being fixed, trash not picked up regularly in the gym. Good location but they are definitely letting this place go a bit.

  This hotel is incredibly overpriced compared to other options in DC. Rooms were clean but the lobby, hallways and gym were shabby and had a musty smell throughout. Other guests were complaining about the smell in the elevator as soon as I arrived. The lobby is a joke and there's only one person working. I thought it was the valet stand, doesn't have the look, feel or customer service vibe of a hotel charging $400+ per night. Staff was dismissive. Gym in particular looked like somebody's basement or garage gym setup. Basically everything about this hotel feels low effort and low budget. If they were charging $200 a night I wouldn't complain but it felt like a very poor ROI when I think how much I paid to stay here. The neighborhood is nice but the hotel is a hike from the Metro.

  I am being charged $73 for minibar items I did not consume and management is impossible to get a hold of. I’ve been going back and forth on email for a week and received no resolution. It’s been a complete waste of my time and energy this week. I’ve never been charged so fraudulently in my life by a hotel.

  Cons: 1. The AC doesn’t work 2. My TV doesn’t have signal 3. My room wasn’t ready at check-in (3 PM). I was told they would give me a call when my room was ready. I waited for a call for two hours. At 5 PM, I called the front desk myself and was told my room was ready. Pros: 1. The service is helpful. For e.g., maintenance staffer came to the room immediately to fix the AC. It took 30 mins for the room to cool, so not bad. 2. Guest services picked up on the first ring and helped me fix the TV over the phone. 3. The restaurant on the first floor is a perfect space to catch up on work while you wait for your room to be prepared. I ordered a cortado and the bartenders/ waiters were very kind. Takeaways: 1. The hotel needs to invest in some serious repairs. I lived in Adams Morgan in the late 2010s, and I remember when the Line Hotel opened. We were so excited about the restaurant space. It felt elevated and transitioned perfectly from daytime work/coffee to happy hour to dinner cocktails. But now, however many years later, the rooms / tv service could use sprucing up.

  Stayed for a work trip and won't be back. Booked a weekend by mistake and paid for it - the noise from 18th Street pours right into the rooms, and between the hallway bleed-through and the bass from outside, there was zero chance of real sleep either night from 10pm to 3am. Not what you want when you're up early for meetings. Then there's the fee situation. Between the "amenity fee" and other add-ons that never get disclosed upfront, it feels like they're squeezing every last dollar out of you any way they can. It's probably buried in fine print somewhere, but that doesn't make it feel any less like a bait-and-switch. For a hotel in a major US city, the nickel-and-diming felt more like something you'd expect from a fly-by-night operation than an established brand. On top of that, the AC didn't work and the sink had almost no water pressure (the shower was fine, oddly). Small thing compared to everything else, but it added up. Great location, that's it. Everything else made this stay more frustrating than relaxing.
