  This is probably my 10th time at this hotel for a staycation. And the reason I keep coming back is because the service is impeccable, the pool is great, the rooms are clean and nicely sized, and the location is great. Today, Trey at the front desk was so kind and helpful to my family and then sent this up to our room after a conversation with my child about Pokemon cards! It was so thoughtful and my child was so excited and surprised. They really go above and beyond here to make you feel special. 🥹

  My experience at the InterContinental Washington, D.C. was profoundly disappointing. Despite having an ambassador membership with access to early check-in and late check-out benefits, on the night of May 13th to 14th, the supervisor on duty refused to provide me with a room, even though suites were available. After a long night at work, I returned exhausted, and I had to sit in the lobby in the early morning hours. To make matters worse, a hour after Denied me the early check in as I was having breakfast, I witnessed the manager inform another guest at a nearby table that their room was ready. This inequitable treatment is unacceptable, especially since my membership entitles me to these benefits. I expect better from a hotel of this caliber.” To make matters worse, upon check-in when I requested a late check-out in advance they denied me, using the excuse that the hotel was oversold; yet, my coworker, who checked in on the very same day as I did, was granted one. For the second time during this same stay, they once again denied me a benefit to which I am entitled by virtue of my Ambassador membership lying to me on both occasions with the excuse that there was no availability, when in reality, there was.

  I really love this hotel. I travel a lot for work and see a lot of hotels. Everything is really well maintained and the rooms are like brand new. The check-in staff is very friendly as are the other staff. I’m here to sleep because I’m burnout and needed a small getaway. I really like the room because it’s quiet, tastefully appointed and big. I have a river view. I really like the bathroom because it has both a shower with an adjustable showerhead (so I don’t have to get my hair wet if I don’t want to) and a bathtub behind the door. It has a side chair with ottoman and a desk too. But the room is so big two adults could easily fit this room even with their bags and the extra furniture. It’s April so I had the rooftop pool all to myself. The water was warm, but not too warm after walking 8 miles in a day. Perfect way to end the day. Rooftop has a view of the Jefferson and Washington memorials as well as the planes coming into DCA and the boats puttering along on the river. It’s very relaxing. There are tons of nice restaurants nearby with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating along with lots of happy hour choices. I highly recommend this hotel.

  Me and my husband did a staycation here this past weekend for our anniversary. I would like to recognize Alex at the front desk. She was so sweet, professional and very knowledgeable about all the questions I had asked. When I walked in to check in, it was her and another employee he had dreadlocks, tall, and skin tone was of a lighter shade. He did not once make contact with me or acknowledged me standing there. Just completely ignored me and kept looking at his computer. As per Alex she was ending a phone call, then welcomed me. With her warm and welcoming spirit, I hope she is one of your top employees. Everything else was amazing with our stay from valet service, breakfast, bar area, and our room that overlooked the river. This review was mainly for Alex and to say thank you to her and also thank you for our nice Anniversary card that was left on our door with a small gift inside. Alex you are top tier……thank you again for a phenomenal experience.
