  As a wedding professional, I know firsthand how much a great venue team contributes to the success of an event, and the team at the InterContinental was truly exceptional! A special shoutout to Marcelo, the banquet captain, Tito, and the entire banquet and service team. From start to finish, we operated as though we’d worked together for years. We were completely in sync, communication was effortless, and I never once had to chase anyone down or worry about whether something was being handled. Everyone was proactive, attentive, and genuinely invested in making the celebration a success. What I appreciated most was the sense of partnership. We looked out for one another, anticipated each other’s needs, and worked together seamlessly to ensure our couple and their guests had an incredible experience. There was a real sense of camaraderie, which made even the busiest moments enjoyable. Marcelo, thank you for being such a wonderful partner throughout the event! It’s teams like yours that make our work not only easier but genuinely fun. I would happily work alongside this crew again and again!

  Outstanding service from Zahra — a true asset to the hotel! I had a wonderful stay at the InterContinental Washington D.C. – The Wharf, and Zahra deserves special recognition for making my experience even more enjoyable. From her warm welcome to her professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine kindness, she went above and beyond to make me feel valued and well looked after. It’s rare to come across someone who combines such professionalism with such a friendly and caring attitude. Zahra was incredibly helpful, attentive to the details, and always made me feel that nothing was too much trouble. Her positive attitude and excellent customer service really stood out. People like Zahra are what make a hotel experience memorable. She represents the InterContinental brand exceptionally well, and I sincerely hope her efforts are recognised. Thank you, Zahra, for making my stay special. I would be very happy to return to the hotel and look forward to experiencing the same wonderful hospitality again. 🌟

  Short stay at IHG wharf DC was great, room and very of Potomac river perfect, and front check in desk service included best support by Erin (not sure if spelling), plus car park team of Shewa was great. I would go out of my way to stay at this great hotel with terrific breakfast.

  I give this hotel a 4.5 because of two minor things that happened… there was a fire drill and the elevator to the rooftop wasn’t working so we had to find our own way up there (there weren’t any signs). The service and room itself were wonderful! Terrance from valet was especially attentive and I loved his happy and welcoming vibe! We’ll definitely stay again.

  Teddy is the reason my family will be coming back—and the reason I’ll recommend the InterContinental at The Wharf to anyone visiting the area. The hotel itself is lovely and incredibly convenient. Our room was spacious and clean, and every staff member we encountered greeted us warmly and seemed to anticipate what we needed before we even had to ask. But Teddy took hospitality to an entirely different level. My kids came back from an epic concert absolutely STARVING at 11:30 on a Sunday night. I reminded them that it was nearly midnight on a Sunday and perhaps they should have considered feeding themselves at some point during the five hours since I’d left them. Nevertheless, I shuffled down to the lobby in my pajamas, hoping I could at least find a bag of chips or something to keep the teenagers alive until morning. The first person I saw was Teddy. I told him I had starving teenagers upstairs and asked if he knew of anywhere I could possibly still get food. “Pizza and pasta okay? Follow me. I’ll take you to where we go.” And he did. Teddy actually walked me down the block to a lively little Italian place I never would have found on my own. He disappeared inside for a moment, came back out, and told me they would take care of me in just a minute. Then he disappeared back into the night like the angel he was. They quickly made my pizzas, and within 15 minutes I was back at the hotel, food in hand, thanking Teddy. What Teddy probably didn’t realize was that I had never been to The Wharf before. I had no idea where I was, how to navigate the area, what might still be open that late—or where I could safely and quickly find food at midnight. He could easily have just pointed me in a direction or suggested somewhere to try. Instead, he immediately took it upon himself to solve the problem and literally walked me to the solution. It was such a simple act of kindness, but it was so far above and beyond anything I expected. That is hospitality. Teddy didn’t just answer a guest’s question; he saw someone who needed help and genuinely wanted to make sure she was taken care of. He turned what could have been a frustrating end to a wonderful night into one of my favorite memories from the trip. The beautiful hotel and great location may have gotten us there the first time. Teddy is the reason we’ll come back.
