- KMKelley McClureMay 2, 20261.0Feeling special and secure, I reserved a room at the Willard via the IHG website. After we checked in, I went online to see our amenities. Turns out our room was now listed at 1/2 the price! We booked a room with a “view” of the Washington Monument. Well, a building cut off 1/3 of it and you can only see it through the narrow window when you sit at the very end of the bed. When I asked about our rate, I was given many different reasons until today. I was sent an email that rates are “dynamic “ ie too bad. I booked in good faith and was handled in poor faith. Think they showed their cards. I won’t be back. I wish I had read all of the reviews posted. Paint an accurate photo.

I, the bride, called beforehand to get the reservations link, and that’s when I started chatting with Ali. Upon arrival, he surprised us with an upgrade to the Frederick Douglas Suite! Upon entering our suite, we saw a bottle of champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries thoughtfully gifted to us. The concierge arranged transportation for the wedding, housekeeping was excellent, and the room service was incredible! I can’t wait to be back!

From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and truly five-star. We had the pleasure of being checked in by Ali, the guest relations, quality manager. He was extremely courteous and professional, and to our delight, sent a little something special for our anniversary to our room. Every staff member went above and beyond to ensure our stay was seamless and memorable. The hotel itself is stunning—elegant & beautifully maintained—with spacious rooms and luxurious touches throughout. What really sets this property apart is the combination of its prime location and impeccable hospitality. After a full day of sightseeing, it was the perfect retreat to relax and unwind in comfort. If you’re looking for the perfect hotel in Washington, DC within walking distance to the National Mall, this is an outstanding choice. Highly recommend for anyone wanting both convenience and an elevated experience.

We held our wedding here, and the space itself is stunning, elegant, timeless, and was the perfect backdrop for our special day. I want to give a huge thank you to Micheal, who we worked with during the contract process and coordination with the hotel. He was incredibly helpful every step of the way. He was responsive, knowledgeable, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything was clear and seamless. We also want to highlight Moses, who made such a lasting impression on us. My fiancé’s birthday fell on our wedding day, and he surprised my now-husband with a cupcake to celebrate, which was such a thoughtful and personal touch. Throughout the wedding day, he was attentive, kind, and always made sure both we and our families were well taken care of. The entire staff went above and beyond. The staff overall all were consistently checking in on us, making sure everything was running smoothly, and ensuring we could fully enjoy the moment. It truly felt like they had thought of every detail—from packing us an anniversary cake to bringing our dinners up to our room after the reception in case we didn’t get a chance to eat. Their level of care, professionalism, and attention to detail made all the difference. We’re so grateful for everything they did to make our day unforgettable.
