  Not worth $400+/night We were really looking forward to our stay, but this hotel fell far short of expectations for the price. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were flat. There was a persistent bad smell in the room, and the AC never properly de-humidified — everything stayed damp and never fully dried the entire stay. The towels were thin and barely absorbent, and the towel hooks weren’t even secured to the wall/door. The hotel’s entryway felt cheap, with an accordion-style door that didn’t match the polished description online. Breakfast was inedible. Overall, the experience didn’t come close to matching the listing or the price point. Would not stay again.

  The first room had wet sheets and stunk like cat pee. I immediately called the front desk. We have a service dog and so we were restricted to the pet rooms despite the unhealthy conditions. We checked out 4 other rooms. All were damp. So, I asked if we could stay in the original room before knowledge of service dog. He states rooms upstairs were much better. He'd look into it. Almost an hour later we walked to the front desk. I could hear the young man pleading with his boss to allow him to move us to a room with better conditions. We were finally moved. As we were walking away with our key. We heard another guest complaining about the damp conditions requesting a better room. Someone needs to call the health department. Mildew/mold is unhealthy. Never again!

  Great stay! The hotel was spotless and the location was perfect — short distance to the aquarium and a quick drive to downtown. Staff were friendly and helpful the whole time, but a special shoutout to Stephan at the front desk — he was attentive, professional, and really helped make our trip great. Would definitely stay here again!

  We stayed at the Best Western in Mystic, Connecticut, and checked out this morning. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. The room was extremely small, and although we specifically reserved a room with two queen beds, we were given a room with two double beds instead. We are a family of four with a baby, so the beds were far too small, and we had a very uncomfortable night’s sleep. The bathroom was tiny, not properly cleaned, and had an unpleasant odor. The room also didn’t feel clean overall. Another issue was the lighting—there were no bright overhead lights, only lamps, which made the room feel dark. Overall, this hotel is in desperate need of upgrades, especially the bathrooms and guest rooms. The cleanliness, room size, and inaccurate bed accommodations made our stay very disappointing. I will not be staying at this hotel again, and I would not recommend it to others until significant improvements are made.
