I stayed at Staybridge Suites in Denver while visiting from New Mexico for a girls' weekend with my nieces before school starts. We ended up arriving around 10:00 PM because our day ran longer than expected, so unfortunately it was too late for the girls to enjoy the pool. We did request a late checkout when we checked in so that the girls could swim before we left, and thankfully we still had a great night together playing UNO Flip, UNO No Mercy, and Dominoes. We booked a two-bedroom suite with three beds and a pull-out couch, so at first everything seemed perfect for our sleepover. Unfortunately, that excitement quickly turned into disappointment. The first issue I noticed was in one of the bathrooms. There was a white, clumpy substance already stuck to the shower wall-specifically described through a teenager's brain as someone's "fun release." As someone who has worked as both a night auditor and housekeeper, my first thought was that it may have been overlooked because the shower appeared unused at a quick glance. I'd rather believe it was missed than intentionally left there, but either way, it shouldn't have been. Next, one of the pillows had several dark stains that immediately caught our attention. While they may have simply been old dryer burns or something harmless, a group of girls between 11 and 16 years old instantly came up with much less pleasant theories. Needless to say, it wasn't exactly reassuring. Then came the final straw—a bug crawling through the room that decided to crash our sleepover. Any one of these issues by itself might have been easy to overlook, but all three happening during the same stay left a really bad impression. What makes it even more disappointing is that I used to work for IHG, so I know the standards these hotels are supposed to maintain. It's unfortunate that the one night I had all of my nieces together for a special weekend ended up being remembered for the condition of the room instead of the fun we planned. We paid $257 for one night, and for that price I expected a clean, well-inspected room. Instead, the hotel became the biggest topic of conversation in the girls' group chat right before school starts. Overall, I'd rate my stay a 5/10. We still made wonderful memories together despite the circumstances, but unfortunately one of those core memories will always be "that hotel Auntie Amber picked." Also I called ahead of time to see what the deposit was and she told me over the phone it’s $50 but upon arrival and me turning over my NEW MEXICO drivers license, she charged me $300 deposit because my old address was on file. Thanks, Staybridge Suites.

It was overall a mid experience. The Bad: - Toilet seat doesn’t stay open and is prone to falling, and ironically enough when I closed it, it wouldn’t say closed and would just barely pop open. - Pay for parking, ridiculous concept bro, like I’m paying for the hotel room just include the parking. - The do not disturb sign was dirty, coffee stains on it, idk how that even happens. - Half the light switches do nothing, like literally I tried everything and they didn’t seem to connect to anything. - The curtains don’t make the room that dark, I worked the nightshift and it was extremely hard to get it dark enough to sleep, ended up buying one of those masks. - Tv only had regular channels, maybe I’m spoiled by hotels with smart TV’s so I’ll let this slide. - Elevator is super sketchy, like it would shake and the doors would take a while to open. - The doors kinda opened in weird ways, I get the lack of space but it was kinda jarring at times. The Good: - they had dinner time snacks, mini complimentary meals at night but only for the first half of the week. Also free booze if you’re into that(I’m not but I’ll give them the credit). - Full sized dishwasher, haven’t seen many hotels with that, they usually skimp out. It made it easy for the three weeks I was there. - Good breakfast, one of the better ones I’ve had. Potatoes need to be cooked longer tho, but overall the choices were numerous and they had plenty of “side condiments” like cream cheeses, cottage cheese, etc to mix and match. - Bed was comfy, really comfy. - They gave me a family room which might’ve been a lack of space for other rooms but it was nice. I could’ve brought family or friends along. - It was super close to the airport, I didn’t have to get up too early and traffic wasn’t too bad by city standards. -BUNNIES, very friendly bunny rabbits in the back courtyard hangout area. -lots of tables out in the back courtyard hangout area, fire pit was also nice along with the BBQ that guests could use. I went on a business trip so everything was free for me but if I had to pay I don’t think I would be completely worth it.

Great option for airport-adjacent stays (DEN; DIA). Clean, modern, with HOT water and excellent water pressure. We stayed in a queen suite, which has two separate rooms (with doors) and a full kitchen. TV in both rooms. Kitchen has everything needed to cook simple meals (except cooking oil) including dishwasher. Free breakfast includes multiple options including the typical waffles/bagels, etc, but also has eggs, protein (chicken sausage, bacon, pork sausage on rotation), and real Greek yogurt and fresh berries. Free unlimited soft drinks and coffee available 24/7. On-site market for convenience store style offerings. There is ample space for hanging out outside the room or on the large patio. There are BBQ grills available. There is a resident population of baby rabbits that are adorable. There are free washers and dryers (must buy or provide detergent) The indoor pool appears very clean and well-maintained. There is well-lit parking for a fee. Late checkouts may be available. Shout out to Manager Emily who was fantastic and immediately and successfully addressed our minor concerns. Give her a raise!! Cons: despite website advertising free parking, parking is $16/day. Management is aware and is being addressed. (Pro tip: there is free street parking on the street to the west of the hotel). Kitchen knives were dull, likely due to glass cutting board (we understand this is sanitary option) No cooking oil in the otherwise well-stocked kitchen. Bed was incredibly stiff (which is better than too soft but still slightly uncomfortable).

This would have been my second time staying at this location. However, I received an email the morning of my arrival stating they had oversold the hotel and that I was being rebooked elsewhere. Nowhere in the email did it state where I was being rebooked, instead, it stated, To minimize the disruption to your trip, we have arranged accommodations for you at [Hotel Name], a nearby hotel that offers comparable accommodations.” Thank goodness I wasn’t on my connecting flight yet as I had to call the number on the email to figure out where I had been rebooked. In addition, I had booked a 1 bedroom king suite at Staybridge. At the new hotel, they put me in a standard 2 queen. At check in at the new hotel, they had no details from Staybridge beyond that it was a transfer. The whole experience was unprofessional and put a significant burden on me to figure out all the missing pieces even though this was 100% a hotel-caused issue. I enjoyed my last stay at Staybridge, but I would be hesitant to book it again given this situation.
