As someone who has worked in the hotel industry and travels frequently, I have a solid understanding of what should be expected when it comes to guest experience and accommodations. Unfortunately, this stay fell short in several key areas.
Upon arrival, check-in itself was smooth and uneventful. However, parking quickly became a concern—especially for those with larger vehicles like our long-bed truck. We initially parked farther from the building, but while unloading, we witnessed another family a few spaces over dealing with a break-in. Their vehicle’s window, positioned away from camera coverage, had been shattered. It was unsettling, to say the least. We immediately moved our vehicle closer to the center of the lot in hopes of avoiding a similar situation, but the experience left us uneasy for the remainder of our stay.
The following morning, breakfast was advertised to begin at 5:30 AM, which is especially important for travelers on tight schedules. Unfortunately, staff arrived about 30 minutes late and repeatedly told guests to sit and wait without offering updates or apologies. When food was finally available, the quality was disappointing—I received a hard biscuit with gravy that was clearly not fresh.
The condition of the room was also below expectations. The bedding had visible holes and stains, which is unacceptable by basic hospitality standards. In addition, we did not receive the full set of room amenities that are typically expected, which further impacted the overall experience. The TV and Wi-Fi/cellular service were also unreliable, with the TV frequently displaying “no signal.”
Overall, I am giving this hotel two stars solely because there was a bed, a roof over our heads, breakfast was eventually served, and airport transportation was available. However, safety concerns, cleanliness issues, missing amenities, and lack of service consistency make it difficult to recommend this property.
Update: since there was no way we could sleep with the noise I went to the Front Office to ask for help and change the room. Matthew, the manager, showed me two other, different rooms and really tried to help, even while having the lobby full of guests waiting to be checked in.
We ended up moving to the 4th floor and all the way to the end of the hallway, away from the elevator.
Mechanical noises are expected in hotels but this was something else. The problem though is definitely the AC. When on, the windows vibrate and it seems to be louder than most. We turned off the AC in the second room and opened the window.
First review.
I am staying only one night at this hotel to catch an early flight. The room is indeed spacious, clean and quite modern. Very comfortable beds. BUT there is an annoying and loud mechanical noise, like a motor running that I know won’t allow us to rest as we need. . On top of everything the room is by the elevator, really? I don’t have time or energy to argue about this. Glad I brought earplugs. The experience is totally ruined if you have to sleep with a motor on your head and hearing the ding dong beep of the elevator. Disappointed! The 3 stars are only because the room is indeed very nice.
