Three words to explain our recent stay at the Mollie:
- Attentive
- Exclusive
- Extravagant
We stayed last weekend for a Birthday celebration.
Carolina and the Mollie team helped us plan for the Birthday celebration (a delicious extravagant cake and complimentary drinks in the room), all while making the experience seamless.
If you're looking for grade A service with a warm and welcoming Aspen 'feel', look no further.
Thank you to all those at The Mollie, we will be back! 🙏

A nicely appointed hotel overall, but service missed the mark. Offering a “luxury accommodation” in Aspen brings high expectations, but I don’t believe the quality of service matched the marketed experience, and certainly not better than the other established luxury properties.
I booked using the Amex Fine Hotels benefit, which includes room upgrade, property credits, early check in, etc. Those benefits did more for my stay than the staff or hotel itself to be honest. I believe off-season may be a factor, but if you cannot uphold levels of service you shouldn’t be operating during this time in my opinion.
What I’ll say went right is that the design is well-done, I was able to be upgraded (thanks, Amex), the welcome gift of a fruit plate was a nice touch, and the room was comfortable and well appointed overall. All expected, but appreciated.
The “spa” tub was not available which was disappointing. There was a sign that stated it would reopen at 3p, so I returned around 3:15-20 but the “closed” sign was still up. I asked the bartender if the spa was open and he shrugged and said there was a hose in it earlier but he could ask. I sat and read my book and went back inside for a water and he asked me if it was open? I said I’m not sure nobody told me. Decided I’d try it out - it’s water I’ll be fine. No jets and the water was lukewarm so surely was just refilled. Less disappointing about it being out of service and more disappointed by the poor communication of staff. On the bright side, the deck has a great view of the mountain.
Before arriving, I had tried to text the desk to get a seat at their “Tasting Table” wine pairing event - crickets. Admittedly I’d forgotten about it until after I’d checked in and overheard it mentioned at the upstairs bar. I went downstairs to see if I could squeeze in (since they didn’t reply to my original text about it) and they offered to seat me if someone didn’t show up. All seats were taken so I left - no word or acknowledgment from the staff. Not the end of the world and I admit I should’ve remembered to ask at check in, but still a sour taste after arriving only a few hours earlier.
The rest of the afternoon and evening was spent with friends for dinner and drinks, so nothing to say about the evening experience. We came back late after a show and went to sleep.
Breakfast at Petit Trois was good. We enjoyed our dishes and were glad to utilize the generous credit provided by the Amex benefits. Nothing to write home about, but it was a quality breakfast with decent service.
We checked out and this is where the experience went further left. The final bill to my card was higher than I’d expected considering the credits Amex afforded. The hotel had provided a sheet of the credits and details of booking with Amex, and while it had noted that tax and gratuity could not be applied to the breakfast credit, there was no mention of the same T&C for the property credit that was also applicable at the restaurant. I disputed this with the desk, who called for a manager and agreed to adjust due to lack of clarity on their own letterhead. I couldn’t quite hear the person behind the desk but it sounded like we were on the same page about remaining charges. I was ready to get out of there but was told I’d get an emailed copy of the bill. That didn’t come, so after emailing and texting the desk I finally received the itemized bill and behold, still overcharged. It’s a small amount, but at this point it’s on principle. I flagged the discrepancy again which they’ve since resolved. However, still frustrating and really landed a disappointing blow at the end of a “luxury” stay.
Luxury should be seamless, but this was not the case overall. I’d give a 3.5 or 4 stars if it wasn’t for the lack of clarity on the credits and then having to dispute charges out of principle.
I would consider giving the property another chance, but I can’t say I would wholeheartedly recommend it to others.

Everything was fantastic! And I think being at MOLLIE during mud season was a bonus. The Service was superb. Food wonderful. Room was very nice. And the bonus…probably the most dog friendly hotel I’ve ever experienced. I cannot wait to go back to see Carolina and team again!

The location is excellent, and every member of the hotel staff was truly exceptional — thoughtful, kind, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay.
The cleanliness was outstanding, the hotel was very comfortable, and the design felt both beautiful and warm.
The coffee shop serves excellent coffee, and the food both at the café and the restaurant was delicious.

As an Aspen local, I'll admit it takes something truly special to make you feel like you've escaped even in your own backyard. The Mollie delivered that and so much more.
I checked in craving a proper disconnect, and from the moment I arrived, the whole experience felt like a warm embrace. My room was absolutely stunning, cozy, beautifully appointed, and the kind of space where you genuinely don't want to leave the bed. And honestly? I didn't have to.
The room service was exceptional — thoughtful, timely, and felt genuinely personal rather than transactional. I indulged in face masks, lazy mornings, and that wonderful feeling of being completely pampered. For a local who knows Aspen inside and out, it's rare to feel like a guest in your own town. The Mollie gave me exactly that.
If you're looking for a luxurious staycation or a true escape wrapped in style and comfort, look no further. I'll absolutely be back. Thank you to the entire team for making it so memorable. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
