Elevator has been out for 2 MONTHS! Booked room 6 months ago and assigned upstairs room. Key card wouldn’t work next morning. Up and down the stairs like a yo-yo. Don’t know how the owner keeps the Holiday Inn name. Staff was pleasant enough.

We had a really great experience here. We’re traveling through as a family of 4 after wilderness camping in the area for the week, setting up for the last half of our trip. We needed a shower and were looking forward to utilizing the pool/hot tub as well as the laundry facilities. We travel quite a bit and don’t usually stick to a specific hotel brand. I really can see the appeal of Holliday Inn Express because of the little extra perks. As of 6/30/26, the elevator was not operational. We knew this would be the case after reading other reviews. This was not a problem for us as we were in a first floor room. We were right across the hall from the pool, which was central to the laundry room, lobby, breakfast area, vending machines, etc. This made doing laundry and using other amenities very convenient. The hotel is fairly small and laid out well. I was concerned that noise could be an issue, it never was. (Even with several families enjoying the pool, I couldn’t hear anything from our room.) The washer/dryer worked well, the front desk had detergent and was able to break bills for quarters. Our room was clean, our bathroom was spacious and clean, and we really liked the Dove bath products. The ladies at the front desk were helpful, signage was clear, and basic information was clearly communicated. I don’t think I’ve ever had breakfast at a Holiday Inn Express… This was definitely one of the best perks. There was a huge variety of options. (My kids always love the “pancake robot” which I know can be tricky to maintain, but was fully operational.) Everything was good, fresh, and at a safe temperature. The coffee machine was better than most we’d experienced and we enjoyed taking a cinnamon roll for the road. The staff member who was helping with breakfast was especially great. She was kind and gave us information about traveling in the area and ensured that everything was stocked and fresh. Having complimentary cookies/snacks in the lobby upon check-in made arriving with hungry kids much smoother and was definitely appreciated. Just a side note that’s not really hotel related… If you’re camping in the area, this hotel is next door to the only Walmart in the area. It made a grocery order pickup very convenient. We ran into issues trying get rid of garbage from wilderness camping. Usually there are trash cans at gas stations/Walmart, but it seems as though there’s some Alamosa ordinance limiting waste receptacles. You might try to get rid of trash before you get here. This hotel made for a good spot to reset our gear, take a shower, and charge devices before heading back into the mountains. Thanks for a great night’s stay and for helping us prep for the second half of our trip. We will definitely stop back by if we’re ever in the area again.

We truly enjoyed our stay. Our group of more than 40 people booked 17 rooms, and the hotel managed everything exceptionally well. Room keys were prepared in advance, making the check‑in process incredibly smooth. The welcome touches — cookies, chilled drinks, and a personalized letter in every room — made us feel genuinely cared for. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of variety. We were impressed from start to finish and will definitely choose this hotel again in the future.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with complimentary fresh lemonade, cookies, and snacks. The rooms were clean, with no musty or wider odors, and ours had a nice view. The staff was polite, helpful and with a personal flair that made this feel more like a bed and breakfast than a corporate hotel chain. Speaking of breakfast, it was well made and delicious with a spacious dining room, and attentive and personable staff. Sadly, we didn't get to use the pool, but it looked clean and inviting and included a working hot tub- a feature asking in some way more expensive places I have stayed in. Overall happy, and this place well be remembered for all the right reasons if/when we make our way back out this way :) and I'll be sure to back swimsuits!!

The elevator doesn’t work which is an inconvenience, especially if you have bad backs and luggage. You won’t know this unless you search the fine print on their corporate site or until you arrive to check in. They advertise throughout the lobby to leave a Google review but don’t update/notify on their Google Maps page that their elevator is out of order. They blame the elevator repair company for it not being serviced and working now for over two months. But with all of the other complaints and maintenance issues other customers have experienced it could be an owner that doesn’t care to invest in upkeep of his asset or care about customer experience. If you purchase through a 3rd party like Priceline beware that in order to get a partial or full refund for a horrible experience you have to call Priceline and then they call to talk to the manager and then she pretends to be in a meeting or unavailable so your request gets denied. Finally, don’t get a room on the highway side, you won’t be able to sleep with the thin walls and utter lack of sound dampening. Oh and watch out for massive stains on your chair in your room, and no warm water in the bathroom sink. The coffee is ok and the breakfast is nothing special, just your traditional cheap and processed breakfast. Spend a little more and stay at the Fairfield Inn, Hampton Inn or an AirBnB.
