⭐☆☆☆☆ Broken room. Broken service. Broken promises.
We checked in after a long day at Great Sand Dunes National Park and immediately found:
* Sink completely unusable (stopper stuck closed)
* Empty body wash and conditioner dispensers
* Broken hair dryer with glass inside
Photos and videos were taken of everything.
We called the front desk and were told someone would come. After waiting 30+ minutes, we called again and were told, “I’ve called the team. What else do you want me to do? You can check out and leave.” Completely unacceptable.
The next morning, the manager, Krishna, apologized, confirmed the sink issue, said maintenance would fix it, and promised us a one-night refund. I personally watched maintenance drill and repair the sink.
Then, at checkout, everything changed. Krishna denied there had ever been a problem, claimed we simply didn’t know how to use the sink, and had multiple employees stand around us while repeating that story.
What disappointed me most wasn’t the broken room—it was the rude service and refusal to stand by what was promised.

Very disappointing experience at Best Western Alamosa Inn.
We checked in after 8:00 PM after spending the day at Great Sand Dunes National Park, only to find multiple issues with our room:
* The bathroom sink was completely unusable because the stopper was stuck closed.
* The shower body wash and conditioner dispensers were empty.
* The hair dryer did not work and had broken glass inside.
I have videos and photos documenting all of these issues.
We called the front desk around 9:00 PM and were told someone would come. After waiting over 30 minutes with no update, we called again. The employee responded, “I have called the teams, what else do you want me to do? If you come to the desk I can check you out and you can leave.” This was an incredibly rude response to a guest simply asking for an update.
The following morning, we spoke with the manager, Krishna, who acknowledged the issues, said maintenance would repair them, and told us we would receive a refund for one night’s stay because the sink was unusable.
I remained in the room while maintenance repaired the sink and clearly heard drilling to fix it.
However, when we checked out, Krishna completely changed her position. She claimed there had never been anything wrong with the sink and that we simply didn’t know how to operate it, despite the repairs that had been carried out. She then had multiple employees stand around us while repeating this explanation, which felt intimidating and unprofessional. We were even told we could return to the room to verify that everything worked—which of course it did, because maintenance had already fixed it.
The Bistro and maintenance staff were courteous, but the conduct of the front desk employee and manager was unacceptable. I expected much better from a Best Western property.

The hotel was nice. Although there was stains on both beds. Bathroom looked not clean and not up to date. The floor in the shower was not steady and felt like a water bed for your feet. It was fine for a night but any longer I would have had to decline. I also tried to use the hair dryer, but it ended up smelling like smoke and not working.

We made reservations to stay here. We were forced to cancel due to a medical emergency. I booked a refundable reservation online but was forced to cancel when we could no longer travel.
Trying to cancel was meet with AI representatives and there was no human to transfer the call to. A special phone number was offered, but there were no humans there either. No calls were ever returned.
I no longer recommend this hotel chain. It's easy enough to book a room, but canceling was too much trouble for the worth of the hotel. The AI staff absolutely ruined any thought of ever staffing here. From now on, reservations will be made by calling the hotel directly and speaking to a human to make sure I get what was requested.

The guest services were very kind, helpful and courteous. There was some noisy youth and they quickly came to quiet them down so we slept great in their comfortable beds. We woke in a he morning to a full breakfast which was constantly replenished. The place was clean and well maintained with beautiful flowers. It was a bad night time drive through the mountains and they turned bad to great!
