  In our first room, there were ants in the air conditioning vents. Shortly after discovering them, we moved out of that room into another room on the highest floor. When we woke up, we realized that there were bed bugs in that room. After getting back, we had to spend a ton of time treating our clothes to make sure they were bedbug free. The breakfast was also not up to the expectations of other Holiday Inn locations. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

  Overall, my stay here was decent and I didn’t have any significant concerns, but I would recommend looking at other properties first before booking this one. In terms of value, this was pretty well-priced for my one-night stay, which was the main reason I booked it. Its location is immediately off the freeway which makes it convenient for road trip stops if you’re passing through Sacramento. However, the location also comes with some drawbacks, as it doesn’t seem to be in the safest part of town (but definitely not the least safe either!)… Several food options exist within walking distance and you can get pretty much anything you need at the gas station next door. The rooms are reasonably dated and in need of refurbishment; the lining of the bathtub was peeling in my room and the air conditioning system was particularly loud and varied in volume throughout the night, which made it difficult to sleep. I therefore would not recommend staying here especially during the summer months, when A/C is absolutely required in Sacramento. Breakfast is offered complimentary for all guests and is the standard HI Express fare - including the cinnamon rolls, which are great. Hot options included a pancake maker, sausages and eggs. This is the best part of the stay at any Holiday Inn Express, in my opinion. Staff were friendly and efficient, check-in and out was smooth and easy. Parking was free but there are limited spaces available; I can see it filling to capacity quite easily, but in saying that, I didn’t have any issues during my stay despite returning to the property late at night. Overall, a decent stay but several things that could be improved. Good value for my stay and for the right price it’s a good option, if you’re passing through town.

  I stayed here for 5 days while in town for business. The positives: The room and bathroom was well equipped. Pleasantly surprised that there was a safe in the closet. Bathroom was very clean with all you needed. Housekeeping each day was extraordinary. The underground garage was convenient and never full during my stay. I liked the walking distance to stores and restaurants. The negative: Upon checking into the room, the AC was not on. Not a big deal, but the AC is a wall unit, so does not reach the bathroom if the door is closed. You have to prop the bathroom door open to cool it off. While your key card gives you access to the hotel after hours, the site is not the least bit secure. The door in the garage, which leads to the elevator and every level of the hotel, was sitting against the wall in the garage leaving complete access to the hotel. About half of the channels on the Tv were unavailable stating that the channel was either scrambled or unavailable. Not premium channels, basic channels like ESPN and CNN. Apparently no one does a walk around the hotel after hours, the stairwell had trash, which was a trip hazard, left behind all one night. They hotel advertises self serve laundry service available, but it was out of order the entire stay.

  Hotel is fine. I booked a room because on the website shows a pool. Come to find out, it does not have a pool. Also, the beds are not the size they list. Misleading info. Would have not stayed here

  I have stayed here 5 times now and 3 out of the 5 times so far the rooms have had issues. I got room 112 on 2 different occasions and I mentioned to the staff on the first stay that the AC is extremely noisy and that the shower is draining extremely slow but apparently neither issue was addressed as with the 2nd stay both issues were still there. As for the other stay the room had a large wet area near the bed and didn't smell good, thankfully I was able to swap rooms that day. I was hoping they would address these issues and do a better job as I would like to continue to stay here because of the location.
